This is unfair! This is totally not fair! My person is making me write a blog post about a cat. I’m writing this post totally under duress. I don’t even know what that word means, but I’m under it.
I barely even know this cat. He showed up at my house a couple days ago and every time I try to get to know him I get locked in the bedroom. I’m tired of getting left in the bedroom so I guess I’ll just ignore him for awhile.
But there’s a mystery to this cat. I recognize his smell. His smell has been sticking to some of my friends that visit sometimes. Maybe they got tired of having his smell on them. Oh no, that means his smell is going to be on my people instead.

Hey, how did that picture get here? How come that cat is sleeping there? I’ve never seen him sleeping on the back of the couch. Every time I see him he’s hiding under something, or behind something. How come he won’t come out when I’m around?
You want me to what, person? Tell everybody his name? I don’t even know his name. What is it? Scratchy Two? I sure hope not. That would really be bad.
Oh. His name is Gizmo. How come he’s here? Are my friends – the ones who smell like him – on vacation?
Oh. They had to move and couldn’t find a place that accepts pets? You mean Gizmo might be here for a long time? I’m stuck with two cats?
I don’t believe it. Gizmo is even trying to out-cute me.
Hey person, do you know anyone who has to move that has a dog?

What can I say, Bongo… at least Gizmo looks like he would be more willing to play with you. He is very cute, but OF COURSE not even close to your radiance!

Thanks Marina. I’ve been feeling kind of down – afraid that Gizmo is cuter than me and he might try to take over my blog. I’ve for sure got to tell him who’s boss because I heard that he used to live with a dog that he’d always harass.

Marina, I sure hope there’s a lock on the place where you put the name on the blog. I could see Gizmo trying to change it. But then again, Scratchy’s tried to change it many times and he’s failed. Maybe I’m safe.

Oh Bongo, I know you are not so happy about this new kitty, but I am very very glad that your person has brought him to live at your house!
When my mom worked at the shelter there were many, many kitties and pups left there because their families could not keep them and this was a very sad thing. I am oh so glad that Gizmo has a new safe home instead of a kennel at the shelter.

Jackie, that’s what I’m afraid of. And I’ve heard that Gizmo likes picking on dogs. I’m keeping him in the corner – when I get let out of the bedroom, that is.

I’m sorry about the duress, B. Gizmo is awfully cute, but I hope he gets his act together about you. For me, the only thing scarier than a cat is a cat hiding under stuff. Whoa! Good luck.

Kevin, I’ve had lots of experience with Scratchy’s claws – I guess that’s why he’s named Scratchy. I just hope Gizmo’s claws aren’t as sharp. So far I keep getting locked in the bedroom every time I try to play with Gizmo.

Bongo… stop and think…. you get to eat out of two cat bowls… er… there will be twice as much catfood that the cats will “accidentally” dump out and you will have to clean those messes up! Ginger, I’ll have to try the catnip mouse thing because Gizmo eats all his food and everything that Scratchy doesn’t eat – so there’s nothing left for me to steal.
