Happy Spring!

20 Mar

Yellow flowersSome flowers popped out on my trails today.

I tried to walk by them really fast and hope my person wouldn’t notice – but she did.

And of course she had to stop and take pictures.

She looks for any excuse to get out her camera.

So while I hung around waiting for my person to finish taking pictures I realized something.

Today is the first day of spring.

So these flowers came out to celebrate.

And tomorrow won’t be a special day anymore.

So maybe the rest of the flowers on my trails will realize they missed their chance and they won’t show up this year.

I mean, what’s a flower if it misses the first day of spring?

And if I keep my person occupied enough with walking, she won’t stop and take pictures of anything else either.

Come on, person. We’ve got places to go – trails to explore.

A trail is no place for a camera, and tomorrow I’m sure there won’t be any flowers showing up.

So happy first day of Spring!

The only day with flowers to take pictures of.

***

What, person?

What do you mean, these are the first of bunches of flowers on my trails?

You’re going to make me wait while you take pictures of them all spring and summer?

That’s terrible!

What am I going to do?

Bongo profile on the trail

I think I’m going to have to find some new trails for awhile.

I would share my trails with you but they still have ice on them

Fredrieka, that must mean if you have any flowers they’re frozen. And they wouldn’t make very good pictures. I can handle a little ice.

The first one’s good for sniffing and the second for chasing.

I think when your person stops to take photos you should jump up and down, or run circles around her or something. Geez, imagine, it’s your walk after all… At least she took a very handsome picture of you!

FireBonnet, that’s how I get my person out of bed in the morning – jumping up and down. I’ll have to try it on my trails too.

Sounds like it’s going to be a LONG, slow-walking spring and summer for you, B. But with lots of flower pictures for the rest of us!

Cupcake, don’t tell my person but at least when she takes pictures I get to enjoy the good smells longer. Most of the time she pulls me away from them and makes me keep walking.

Such nice sunny flower faces. Thanks for letting your person share some spring happiness (your flowers have to be plentiful to make up for the ones still asleep under snow and blanketed in cold ground…some blog readers are desperate for signs of spring!) Nice smile, Bongo

Karen, my person says she’s not sure how many flowers we’ll get this year because we hardly had any rain all winter – but we seem to have tough flowers around here. They don’t care if there’s no rain.

Thanks Lily & Edward. The cactus flowers will be out in a few weeks and you can’t even sniff them.

Patrecia, I have to water those flowers. Since we’ve hardly had any rain in weeks it’s probably the only water they’ll get.

That’s an idea Pigs. Squished flowers don’t make for very good pictures.

Happy first day of Spring, Bongo! Yes, I’m afraid it’s going to be flowers and more flowers for a while, from now on… but remember, they can be a great background for a Bongo portrait! I can just imagine a theme with titles like: ‘Bongo on red’ – ‘Bongo on yellow’ etc. Get it? Whenever she tries to get a shot of them, move in like you did yesterday! 🙂

Marina, I’ll remember that. I’m sticking close to all the flowers.

Would you enjoy flowers if you had some tucked in your collar? That would be pretty. Might give you sneezes, though. Happy Spring, Bongo!!

Kris, I don’t think I’d like the smelly flowers tucked in my collar – unless somebody had left me a message on them.

Wow! Spring has come! That yellow flowers look like cosmos….but normally cosmos is autumn flower…….what the name of the flower, do you know Bongo? The color is pretty, too! Very cheerful color! 🙂

Kevin, my person says she doesn’t know the name of this flower. There are lots of yellow flowers on my trails but most of them come out in late summer or autumn.

Diane said we’re not doing spring here this year. I like my snow piles just fine so I don’t know why she keeps complaining AND they say we might get a blizzard this Wednesday! Whoooeee!!! Lola

Lola, you’re so lucky to have all that snow (but I bet Diane isn’t feeling so lucky). We never got winter here this year.
