The Almost Really Good Day

02 Jan

Today was a really good day.

Well, it started out good.

My buddy came over for a visit.

We had a great time playing catch – but then, he decided my younger person’s Legos were more interesting.

Bongo putting a ball in a box full of Legos

So I had to drop my ball in the Lego box.

***

That must have gotten his attention…

Bongo and his buddy on a walk in the snow

…because after that he let me take him for a walk.

In the snow.

Bongo eating snow near some icicles

I don’t know anything about icicles, but this snow sure tastes good.

***

But then my buddy got out of control.

Bongo jumping over a remote control truck

He sent a truck after me.

Bongo trying to get the remote control truck

But a picture doesn’t do this horrible truck justice.

Warning: The following video contains explicit language –

oh, never mind. Only my dog friends will understand what I’m saying.

My buddy deserved some real punishment for this.

Bongo's buddy in the dog jail

So I locked him in dog jail.

Bongo's buddy and Gizmo locked in dog jail

And for good measure, I locked Gizmo in there with him.

After all, Gizmo used to be my buddy’s cat before he came to live at my house.

***

Hey, wait a minute!

Bongo and his buddy both locked in dog jail

How did I end up in here too?

A dog just can’t win around here.

Ku, my whole yard and trails are full of that delicious stuff. I especially like nibbling it off the stairs to my back yard. Got to clear those stairs off somehow.

Naughty Buddy sending a blue truck after you. I bet you barked at it in protest…and so you should. You look lovely in your ‘jail’ it looks very strong….my dogs all have a cage each but the cages are not made of strong stuff like that..are you an escapee?

love you Bongo lots of cuddles and kisses,,,,and hugs

Patrecia, my person thought that strong jail would keep the thunder out. It doesn’t, but I can’t get out of it to escape the thunder. My person says my dog jail is keeping the doors of the house from getting new holes in them when it thunders. Well, if those doors are in my way I’ve got to get through them somehow.

        January 4, 2015 at 2:11 am

oh my poor Bongo..I do understand your predicament,When it thunders at night why don’t you hide under big person’s bed, you would be safe from harm there, or you could even get into bed and hide under the duvet. I am sure that she would not mind!

        January 4, 2015 at 1:38 pm

Thunder’s not so bad when my person is around. I still don’t like it but at least she’s here to protect me. It’s when she leaves me home alone (cats don’t count) and the thunder shows up.

Now who in the world, put all of you sweeties in jail after you all had so much fun in the snow? That blue truck was naughty, but we didn’t see the rest of you being naughty, we think the truck should have been put in jail, not you all. Hugs and nose kisses

Mag and Chancy, next time that truck shows up at my house it’s going into jail for sure. And actually my little buddy put all of us in jail – including himself. Hugs and nose kisses back to you.

Kevin, fortunately my little buddy was between me and Gizmo. Otherwise Gizmo might have started swatting at me and I wouldn’t have been able to escape.

How dare that truck…better you put that in jail too, Bongo, but at least you let to hear yourself loud and clear. Btw wasn’t it a little bit cosy all together in that warm, snuggling…jailhouse 😀 Pawkisses 🙂 ❤

Little Binky, next time I’m putting that truck in jail for sure. And I didn’t mind being cozy with my little buddy and I guess Gizmo didn’t either. He was on the other side of the jail from me.

Definitely jail time – driving without a license. You’ve got snow Bongo? We don’t have any left here but maybe tonight. Crazy because you know there’s nothing better than playing in the snow! Lola

      January 3, 2015 at 5:13 pm

Lola, it’s hard to believe that we got snow in Arizona when colder places don’t have any. The sun is back out now though and our snow is going away but there’s still some left. Too bad we can’t play in the snow together. That would be so much fun!

Well I had to open my mouth – it a messy mix of snow/sleet & rain right now so nobody is out on the roads. But – tomorrow’s going to be in the 50’s so go figure?

Stay, I tell you! srlkprklstringlzzzz woooof!” Or that’s some of the phrases Loretta translated for me. Is your person a magician? How did she get you behind …bars?!!!

    • Bongo

      January 3, 2015 at 5:15 pm

Loretta, thanks for translating for Marina – but I’m sure glad you didn’t tell her the worst things I said. Oh, and my little buddy must be the magician. He put me, Gizmo, and himself behind bars. I’m not sure how he did it.

i wish we had snow here, eating snow sounds like a lot of fun. 😀 You’re really brave Bongo the way you dealt with the truck, showing it who’s boss! i’m easily scared and would have ran to the corner of the room and let it do whatever it wanted! 😛

Popcorn, I had to give that truck what for. But I think the truck went out and chased all the snow away. All of it disappeared.

Thanks Karen. Except for that one snow we’ve mostly had spring for winter. Except for the last couple of days and a few last week. Today the rain has been pouring down. I think the weatherman is confused though.

Bongo, it’s been a foggy drizzling, rainy cold winter here. No dry shoes or paws anywhere. Molly never notices the weather, though. She’s going out to run in a big field with friends – not sunny, but not raining. ..and then there’s the mud rinse off at the end of the day which she’s gotten very tolerant of. But all this rain should mean lots of wild flowers soon – the redbuds, pears and citrus trees are already putting on blooms to give winter notice. Paw waves

Karen, the rain turned to snow today – for awhile. A little bit even stayed on the ground but it’s mostly gone now. Wish I could go romping in the mud with Molly. It’s more fun when you have a friend.
