I think there’s some kind of double standard around here. At dinner time it’s my person’s job to feed Scratchy and my younger person’s job to feed me. Well, my person is usually somewhere near the kitchen so as soon as Scratchy says something she’s right there with the food. Then you know what she tells me? She tells me to go ask my younger person to feed me.
She’s right there in the kitchen – right near my food – and I have to go ask someone else for my dinner. My younger person is usually in his room on his computer or something and he won’t get up to feed me until he’s good and ready. I’m starving here. What makes it even worse is that Scratchy is sitting there savoring every bite and making sure I know about it.
At least my person could make Scratchy wait too, but she says she never used to feed him dinner. She says she used to feed Scratchy only once a day, but when I started stealing his food she had to feed him little bits more often.
Scratchy, I was trying to do you a favor here. You could stand to lose a little weight and I was trying to help you out. Instead you get fed twice a day now and I have to wait for my dinner. Don’t blame me, but I have to say I told you so. You’re going to be one fat cat.

Since I’m the only furry one at my house, I always get to eat first. I’m so glad I don’t have to wait.

Lola, you’re so lucky, but you do miss out on the fun of harassing a cat.

Oh, Scratchy! You shouldn’t tempt poor Bongo while he has to wait for his foods. Bongo you run and get your younger person quick and get your foods too. Chancy says he can show you some pitiful looks that might get you some foods real quick….it works for him. Hugs and nose kisses

Mumsy, I think I’d like some of those pitiful looks lessons from Chancy. Hugs and nose kisses back to you

Poor Bongo…cats always rule the roost! Roory eats first at our house…only because her constant obnoxious begging is much louder and more demanding than Harley and Scarlett’s pitiful staring and occasional whimpers.

Deannamelanie, you are so right. Scratchy always makes a fuss too. And he tells on me when I steal his food.

Poor Bongo. Don’t they know that we count the seconds until food!

Brown Dawgs, I’m still not finished training my people. They’re slow learners.

Maybe Scratchy and Wonderbutt could be an interspecies couples team on The Biggest Loser.

I think Scratchy and Wonderbutt would make a great team.

You are in such a mood, young man! 🙂 Maybe train your younger person to feed you before the kitty eats? Maybe go to him before Scratchy starts wanting her food? Just thinking out loud here. Smooches, Bongo. 🙂

Katie, I think my younger person is untrainable – although sometimes he surprises me and feeds me before I ask.

My advice? Eat Scratchy!

Bones, I like your advice – but I would be in soooooo much trouble. Besides, it would take me forever to pick all Scratchy’s fur out from between my teeth.

Cats are like that ya know. My cats cry and moan and do everything possible to get Jen to feed them. And I have to wait for them to be fed AND to be taken outside AND for Jen to dish out the chow. It’s all so very unfair! *sigh*

Rumpy, I wonder what our people would do if we started acting like cats.

Good plan. Make the cat fat, then you can catch it, or at least roll it out of the way so you can steal its food! :o)

Alfie, I’m good at rolling the cat out of the way. He doesn’t like it much though.

Tigger our cat says that cats should eat first and anytime they want food… but the collies disagreed and to prove the point they took her food bowl and ate her food themselves…. Tigger is now scheming and plotting the collies demise! She is wondering if Scratchy would like to help… LOL Great post, keep up the wonderful posting! 🙂

Tigger, this is Scratchy. Please don’t tell Bongo I’m commenting on his blog again. Whenever my person leaves – if she forgets to put my food on top of the refrigerator, Bongo jumps up and steals it from the back of the counter. I’ll help you with the collies if you’ll help me with Bongo.
