Escaping Thunder

Escaping Thunder

Yesterday it thundered – a bunch. I don’t like thunder at all. The thunder was so bad that even Scratchy the cat jumped. Thank goodness one of my people was home with me. I didn’t let her out of my sight. I feel safer if someone is with me.

Don’t ever leave me alone when it’s thundering. It’s so big it’s hard to get away from. Sometimes, if I’m outside, I can’t run fast enough to get away from it. But other times I can get away from it and I can’t hear it anymore. Then I can go back home.

I really hate it when I can’t get out of the house during a thunderstorm. I’ve tried different ways to escape. I’m pretty good at escaping from the yard, but the house is harder. Last time I tried to go out through a closet. There was stuff in the way that I had to tear through and the closet wall wouldn’t budge. One of my people said I was trying to get to Narnia. I don’t know where Narnia is, but if there’s no thunder there that’s where I want to be.

Coyote Chase

A coyote in Yosemite National Park, California...

Image via Wikipedia

I chased a coyote once. It was really humiliating (I learned that big word – humiliating – from my person.) My leash was still attached to me, although I’d managed to separate it from my person. It kept clunking around every bush and it finally got stuck in a bush. I had to wait for my person to come free me. I thought I’d go run after that coyote again, but after she freed me, my person shortened my leash so I couldn’t pull away again. Sometimes she spoils all my fun.

Garden Tomatoes

Garden Tomatoes

Hi. It’s me again. Bongo. I promised to tell you about the garden tomatoes. One of my people sometimes has tomatoes growing in the garden. I was out in the yard one day, by myself, and I was ready for a snack. I’m always ready for a snack. There it was – a nice, big, beautiful, red tomato. So I ate it. Then I ate a couple more. They were good. I tried a green one but it was terrible so I spit it out. Add that to my list of dislikes. I don’t like green tomatoes or olives. Well, my person isn’t very nice sometimes. She started picking the tomatoes before they got red enough to be good. Then my other person put a fence around the garden so I couldn’t get the tomatoes. Shucks!
