Things were a little frightening this morning. My person let me go outside as usual – so far, so good. We came back in and she fed Scratchy – always Scratchy first – I’m rolling my eyes here. Then she fed me, and before I could even stick my nose into my bowl it happened. The lights went out and there was a loud bang. It sounded like thunder – loud thunder like when it’s right near our house.
I was not a happy camper. As a matter of fact, I was quite scared. When it thunders once it almost always thunders more. I couldn’t even eat my breakfast. Then these things in the house started making beepy noises. I didn’t like that either. They might have been helping the thunder get ready to come back again. Finally my person opened a cabinet door, moved a black box, pushed a button and the beepy noises stopped.
While all this was going on some white trucks invaded our neighborhood. They must have been there to keep the thunder from coming back because it never thundered any more, but the lights did come back on. Those trucks must be new because there weren’t any around the last time we had thunder. I sure hope they come back next time we have a storm.

Well we are so glad those trucks came and fixed your lights. We hate thunder storms too. They are so darn scary. We try to get under the furniture. Take care.

Marg, my person says she’s glad the lights are fixed too. I would just sleep and not worry about it, but she says she likes to see and have power for her computer.

We have had something like thunder in our neighborhood lately. My person calls them firecrackers and she says they’re a summertime thing. It’s not summer anymore, so I don’t know why people are playing with them. They make me very nervous.

Lola, those people just don’t understand, do they. If they only knew how much it upset us I’m sure they’d stop.

We had that happen once too Bongo. It was caused by a squirrel! He got himself electrocuted and downed a power line.
What is it with feeding cats first? My human does that too. I think we need to protest.

Rumpy, that’s so funny about the squirrel because after the trucks left my person took a picture of a squirrel climbing up on top of the transformer. And yes, I think we need an organized protest regarding cats getting fed first.

Poor Bongo. I think that would have sent Mrs. P.I.B. right over the edge. As it is, thunder makes her crash through the baby gates so she can hide in our shower.

I think Mrs. P.I.B. has a good idea. I think I might try hiding in the shower next time.

Ironically, our shower has a huge floor to ceiling window. So, I’m not sure why she feels safer in there.

Bongo, loud noise is just loud noise. Try not to be bothered by it. I like the title of your post. It sounds like a new cartoon series – Thunder Trucks Are Go! 🙂

Bassa, I wish I were calmer like you, but I get so scared of noises. I’m never sure what might come get me. You think that’s a cool title huh? Thanks.

Oh, scary, Bongo! Hope thunderstorm season is over now! My Boxer girl doesn’t like that I feed Grimm Kitty first either. But she always gets a lot more food, so that’s okay. Until Grimm wants to eat her food too. 🙂

Katie, thunder season has been over for awhile now – so that noise really surprised me. I guess I’m lucky Scratchy doesn’t like my food – but I sure like his. I sneak it when no one’s looking.
