No, Not That!

07 Nov

My Person's FriendsI didn’t notice it at first because as soon as my person got home she put her hiking boots on and attached my leash to my collar and we headed out the door. I think she felt guilty about only giving me half a hike the other day because the scent of my person’s little blogging friend hung around her.

Yes, she admitted she had been with her blogging friend, but she said she’d made a point of getting home in time to take me for a walk before it got dark. Thank you person. You didn’t do that the other day.

But there was something else. It became obvious when we returned home from our walk that it wasn’t only the little blogging friend that I smelled. It was a new scent. Something, actually somebody that I hadn’t smelled before. Not a person. Not even a dog, and definitely not a cat. It was a – a – it was – I haven’t been around one of those in a very long time. It was a puppy.

Nooo – not a puppy. What if my person wants to replace me with a puppy? What if she thinks that puppy is cuter than me? I’m in trouble now. Where would I go if that puppy came and took my place?

What? You mean? That puppy’s not coming here? You’re not going to replace me? That puppy belongs to your blogging friend? Silly person. Why didn’t you tell me that sooner?

Ruby

Thanks Bassa. My person said she’d take me over that puppy any day. That puppy isn’t house trained.

Bongo, this fluffy little thing looks very much like someone who needs your advice! You could teach him a lot of things, like going outside when it’s time to – you know? And later, you teach him, how to write his own blog.

B0ng0, you are so right. I need to take this creature – I mean puppy – under my wing and teach her a few things.

You are so great, Bongo, your person would never replace you. But it looks like she found you a friend that you can raise up right. You can teach that little ball of fluff to do exactly what you want.

Lola, I could teach that little ball of fluff a thing or two – guess I’d better watch what I teach her – we might both get in trouble.

AAh what a cute carmel butterball. Reminds me of my poodle, Monsieur Feisty. Bongo, someday remind me to tell you the story about how Feisty learned to “pee like a man.”

Sandra, I’m looking forward to your story about Feisty.

No need to worry, Bongo, no puppy can replace you! Your person probably just wanted you to help socialize the little dog and maybe become friends, as some day that puppy will be a dog! Glad it turned out well, Bongo! 🙂

Katie, I guess I’m safe. That puppy hasn’t shown up at my house yet.

Bongo, that is a cute little puppy, no tail wags about it. But it’s just going to have to get its own blog because this one is taken!

Oh nooooo, I hope you don’t get replaced. Perhaps it’s a companion, you shouldn’t be alone, Everybody should have a companion they are compatible with so I pray that this new puppy will be a great addition to you. Just so that you know Bongo, you are awesome!

Tri, it might be fun to have someone to play with, but that puppy is more the size of my cat Scratchy. I wonder if they would play.

Thanks Brown Dawgs, as long as that puppy stays at her own house I think I’m fine.
