Where Did She Go?

09 Nov

Bongo waiting at the doorI think my person has ADD. She gets up and heads for the door, so I run to the door getting ready for her to let me out, and then she does something else. How could she forget so quickly? I mean, sometimes it’s only a second or two. She turns the other direction, or she gets distracted by something on the counter, or she gets herself something to eat.

Can you believe that? She was getting up to let me out, and I was so looking forward to catching a few Frisbees, and then she forgets and gets herself something to eat. She doesn’t even give me any food. How rude is that?

About this time I’m usually running back and forth between my person and the door to remind her that she was supposed to be letting me out and tossing Frisbees to me. Sometimes she finally remembers, and sometimes she doesn’t. Usually if I go right up to her and jump up and down a few times it jogs her memory. I just wish she didn’t get so distracted. It would be so much easier on me.

My person does the same thing. She’ll be headed for the door and then she’ll start talking to herself and turn back around. One thing at a time, person. Me first, please.

Lola, I’m glad I’m not the only one.

Life is a bowl, I’d love to have a doggy door but my person won’t get me one. I found out I can jump our six foot fence. I’m not sure why that’s a problem, but my person seems to think it is.

Aww, Bongo. Sometimes us owners just like watching you go nuts. 😉

On a more serious note, we do care about your needs. Your person probably has some very important business to tend to that she needs to turn back around.

Nel, I think my person likes watching me jump. If she takes too long to do what I want I’m really good at jumping up and down.

Bongo, I think we are guilty of this, too. Harley is usually our reminder as he’s the most vocal when he sees something outside he wants.

Deannamelanie, I’m glad I’m not the only one this happens to. Tell Harley he’s alright.

If you had Wonderbutt’s lack of manners, you would not have this problem, Bongo. He never, ever lets me forget him. He tackles me if he thinks I’ve taken too long to fulfill his expectations.

I think I could learn a thing or two from Wonderbutt.

B0ng0, I’m not like that –am I? Well, dogs are supposed to be like that. People should be here to take care of us when we think they should, I think.

Brown Dawgs, I think you’re right. Sometimes I think I’m never going to get my people trained the way I want them to be.

Humans have lots of things to do Bongo and constantly have to reassess their priorities, which means they will start to do one thing then remember they need to do another thing. Unfortunately, they are not as focussed as us. If we decide to do something we do it!!! 🙂

Bassa, I wonder if there’s a training course for humans to help them be more focused like dogs.

Bassa is right Bongo. I sometimes forget too. Like when I was supposed to take Chaos out for his walk, I got dressed, wore my winter jacket (Winnipeg is COLD so walking the dog means having to dress warm both for me and Chaos) took the leash then went out the door. halfway to the elevators (we live in a apartment building) I thought I was missing something. That’s when I realized I left the reason why I was going out in the first place. such an airhead!

Yashikibuta, I’m glad my person’s not the only one, but I just have to figure out how to train her better.

Looks like you may need to put a bell around your neck sweet Bongo so she will hear it ringing all the time and maybe that way she will not forget to let you out and play frisbee with you. You sure were sitting nicely waiting for her. Hugs and nose kisses

Mumsy, do you think a bell will work? I’ll try anything to get my person trained right.
