Today I was walking along on my trails minding my own business when suddenly I saw it. It couldn’t have been snow – the rain from the last couple days washed away the little traces that were left. It was something more unusual that that.
My puddle, which had been getting pretty scungy, now had water flowing into and out of it and it was much cleaner. But then, when I passed by my puddle and followed the little stream running away from it – I found it.
At the bottom of a rock, sitting there in all its white foaminess, I found a pile of suds. At first I thought it was snow, but it was much too frothy for that.
So maybe it wasn’t the water running through it that cleaned up my puddle. Maybe, just maybe, someone gave my puddle a bath. I never heard of giving a puddle a bath, but here you have it. First class evidence.
Or maybe someone thinks I need a bath, and they put those suds there so I would scrub myself before heading back home. No, that can’t possibly be. It’s got to be the puddle they were cleaning. I wish I had a camera hanging on a nearby tree. I want to know who that person was that gave my puddle a bath.

We wish you had a camera to hang in a tree too sweet Bongo…like you we would love to know who put the suds in your puddle and why. Strange to find suds in your puddle, huh? Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, I’m hoping my person will let me do some detective work to track down that suds person.

How did it taste, Bongo? Like bathing foam?

B0ng0, my person wouldn’t let me taste the suds, but they didn’t smell sweet.

Thanks Collies and Chuck. My person never lets me have beer and I don’t know the smell. Maybe that is what those suds were.

Baths and showers and such like are to avoided. Even when puddles are on the receiving end.

Pippa, I kind of like baths and showers – but the water there would have been much too cold.

Weird! I sure hope somebody didn’t just abandon those suds out there in the middle of nowhere.

Rumpy, that would be really sad – abandoned suds. Maybe it was a good thing I found them.

Bongo, I know all dogs are really smart……and I love your tales…….I use to work with your person in the Red Rock country. I lost my dog (Sam) a couple years ago and am looking for another companion, but haven’t found just the right one yet. Keep up your adventures, love reading about them. Bonnie in NC.

I think this mystery needs more investigation, Bongo. Wonderbutt will eat the suds for you and you let you know the chemical makeup. Well, he’ll do the first part. I’m still trying to train him to do the second.

I think Wonderbutt and I would make a great team. We’ll get to the bottom of those suds yet.

We always thought puddles were self cleaning. Sounds like a mystery to us!

Brown Dawgs, maybe the suds were what the pond washed down the drain after it cleaned itself.

I never heard of a puddle having a bath. Suds appearing in a puddle sort of sounds like an environmental problem–or maybe there are gremlins on your trails.
Bongo
December 16, 2011 at 10:54 pm
Patricia, I think it might be the gremlins. I probably showed up too fast and they couldn’t get away with all the evidence.

Doesn’t look like suds to me, but more like the foam on a good Belgian beer 🙂

Hmmmm….it’s a mystery….why suds in your puddle? Besides the suds doesn’t look a lot…we have to hire a detective to investigate why it happended, Bongo!!! 🙂

Kevin, a detective would be good. We might even need Sherlock Holmes for something this serious.

Suds in your puddle? Sounds a little fishy, Bongo!
Bongo
December 17, 2011 at 9:55 am
Bassetmomma, do you think fish created those suds? I might have to go check that puddle a little more closely and see if there are any fish in it.

Be careful Bongo – it could be some sort of pollution!
Bongo
December 18, 2011 at 12:52 pm
Bassa, that’s probably why my person wouldn’t let me taste those suds. She thinks they might have come from the green stuff that was in the puddle before it got cleaned.

Maybe there was a hidden television camera crew filming you to see what would happen when you stumbled on their set called: Mystery dog and the suds in the water prop scene. 😉
