What Do I Smell?

29 Dec

Bongo SniffingMy person left me for awhile and when she came home I smelled something familiar on her. It was the smell of my little friend that comes over to visit me her sometimes. I was not very happy because she didn’t take me with her to see him.

After I sorted out all the smells on my person – a strange dog and cat and lots of people – I noticed another smell. I didn’t recognize this smell, but it was a really good one. It smelled a little like the robins I saw the other day, but not the same. It actually smelled very tasty, like something I might want to take a big bite out of.

My person started getting suspicious when I kept sniffing her and she said that even if she took me over to my little friend’s house it wouldn’t do me any good. She said I wasn’t going to get anywhere near those chickens.

So that’s what I smell. Chickens! Come on person, who comes first – the chicken, or the dog?

Now listen here Bongo..do not go hankering after chickens, leave them alone!

I used to have some chickens but my naughty Lucky dog, together with Charlie and Trudy they chased some of my chickens and killed them. I was very angry and I told them so.

I could not let them do that again so I gave my chickens to my friend Tam

so let them thar chickens be

Bongo, my person won’t let me near rabbits. Which get’s hard in the springtime. Boy do I love chasing them! Every once in awhile when my person isn’t looking I climb onto the table (all fours) and eat her chicken right off her plate! Fondly – Casey – the beagle.

Casey, that’s pretty awesome – sneaking that chicken off your person’s plate. I like rabbits too, and my person won’t let me chase them either. She keeps a tight hold on my leash.

I guess you have to be a dog, or some other being with four legs, to like the way chickens smell when they are scratching around in the yard.

Bongo, this is rather adorable. I can tell, you are one sweet dog. Your person should be grateful to have a dog as marvelous as you, my friend. As for the answer to your question, why, the dog of course. The dog comes first!

Thanks Henry, and you’re so right – the dog comes first. Now to convince my person of that.

Kicked, Bitten, and Scratched – thanks for commenting. My person says her friends with the chickens are planning to get some turkeys too. I’m excited for more smells. Maybe I can put in a word for them to get some goats too.

Oh that is so not cool when we come home with smells of ‘others’ on our clothes. We met a sweet lab mix at the store yesterday and Miss Stella and Miss Sadie were quite curious as to why we had some other ‘dog’ on our clothes. Never fear, loyalty and love run deep for those we have in our family. : )

Just Ramblin’ Pier, I can never figure out why my person would want to have anything to do with other dogs when I’m not around. Since I’m so much fun I don’t see how those other dogs can compare.
