Dots in the Dirt

11 Jul

Bongo Looking at the TrailThe dirt on my trails looks a little different today. I don’t know why, but there are dots in it.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Those dots don’t smell any different.

.

Bongo's nose and dots in the dirt

So where did they come from?

Did someone take a stick and poke it all over my trails? They must have poked pretty fast because they made a lot of dots.

Maybe they had a large sheet of dots and they went along my trails pressing it in everywhere.

But why would they do that? Did they think I was so bored that I needed something to do in my Detective Dog hat?

Well, you’ve got something coming if you think that. Anyone who would take time to put all those dots on my trails must be really bored. Don’t you have anything better to do?

What, person? What do you mean, God made those dots?

Those are from raindrops? Raindrops make mud – and puddles. Since when do they make dots?

It’s not even wet. Shouldn’t there be tiny puddles in the raindrop dots?

I’m pretty sure it must’ve rained on me when I was born. I have dots all over my silly fur!

    Love and polka-dotted licks,
    Cupcake

Cupcake, you’d fit in perfectly on my trails. I bet you love the rain too.

Oh how funny, I wonder what it could be. Maybe miniature sandworms, like from Dune? Be careful of your toes!

Jen, miniature sandworms sounds scary. I hope they don’t come out and attack. Dune is kind of like my trails are right now. No water for a long time.

Do you have hail in Arizona that could have made those dots?

Lexie and Mica, those dots were caused by big raindrops. There were only a few of them so they made impressions on the dusty trail and there was no more rain to mess them up.

Bongo, I took a closer look at you and I also saw a lot of dots on your fur, but maybe I just see dots everywhere after reading your story 🙂

Cool, artwork from heaven. I am sure you will be blessed with some puddles before long Bongo. Rain here was bouncing off the ground it was so heavy last week. No chance of puddles, it just washed everything away. I would far rather be joining you on the trails lol

Susan, we’ve had some more rain but everything is so dry it’s all soaking into the ground right away. I’m scared to go out and check today because the sky is full of thunder. Yikes!

Raindrops are very creative as they make the dirt into those artistic pattern, Bongo. The dirt on your trails must be very powdery!!! 🙂

Kevin, it’s been so dry here that my trails are full of dust and very powdery. It was like a piece of art on my trails.

Bassa, I guess I’d better go search those aliens out. Who knows what mischief they could be up to.

    Hey Bongo, Jet here.

Dude, I admire your inquisitive (vocab builder) mind… Are ground is so porous (vocab builder), we rarely get dots like that. Did you try to connect them?

      July 19, 2012 at 4:45 pm

Hey Jet, I connect some of those dots with my paw prints, but there are so many I don’t know what to do with them all.
