There’s somebody in my yard. And they’re not supposed to be there.
It’s some of those coyotes – or javelinas.
And I’m going to get ‘em.
I’ve got to be quiet though. If I start barking I’ll wake up my person and then I’ll never get to them.
They’re out this way. Maybe I can get through this window. I’ve got to get up on this table to get to it.
Oops, I knocked the stuff down. I’ll just drag this pillow and the sheet to the center of the room so it’s out of the way. The note cards can stay where they fell. They’re little. I don’t think my person will notice them there.
This window’s not working. I can’t seem to get through it. What about the door? No luck here, but I messed up the doormat. I’d better put it in the pile too.
Hey, wait a minute. I think there’s a secret way out through the bathroom. Let me check.
What’s this bathmat doing in my way? I bet it’s covering the secret entrance. I’d better get it out of here.
Nothing.
I’ve got one more option and these boxes are in front of this window. How am I going to get them out of here?
Wow! They tear apart pretty easily.
Oh oh. I hear my person. She never comes out to this room in the middle of the night. What kind of coincidence is that? I didn’t bark or anything so there’s no way she could know I was here.
Hey person, I’m sure glad you decided to come out here. Check it out. I was just straightening up a few things for you.

It would be so much easier and more dog appropriate if all the stuff was in the center of the room…leaves the perimeter clear to race around from door to window to window to door …
Maybe your person will catch on after your demonstration?

Karen, it does make for a much better play and exercise area. I bet even Scratchy would like me for it. Sometimes he likes to run around the house too.

I hope your person appreciates your efforts to protect the house. If they’d only leave a door open at night, you wouldn’t need to work so hard! Nice work, B.

Cupcake, I don’t know why my person won’t leave a door open. Then if I didn’t wake up soon enough the coyotes could come in and play with me. And if they didn’t I’d run out and give them what for.

Like cupcake says, such valuable efforts of protection should be praised by your human!! 😀 althought, mwhat did that bath mat ever do to you ?! ;)) xxx

October 22, 2012 at 5:16 pm
Chaotic Scribbles, I’m sure there’s a secret way to get outside from the bathroom and that bathmat was covering it up. The only problem is that when I moved the bathmat the secret exit moved too. I’m gonna keep looking for it though.

Sage, I think she did but she didn’t like where I put everything. She put it all back where it had been.

Ginger is impressed! Woo hooo! Next time, get some of scratchy’s fur and place it on each item and scratchy will get in trouble and then when scratchy is in time out eat the cat food! Muwahahaha
Bongo
October 31, 2012 at 9:58 pm
Ginger, great idea. Since Scratchy leaves clumps of his fur all over the house that would be easy to mix it up with the stuff. I have to be careful when I steal his food though. If my person catches me I might get put in time out.
