Yesterday I had so much fun telling you about my first Gotcha Day that I thought I’d tell you some more old stories.
I ended yesterday’s story with the cat ornament that my people kept on top of the kitchen cabinets. That ornament was up there for a long time after my people brought me home. I don’t know much about how long time is, but my person says that ornament was up there for ten months.
It was so long that I forgot about it even being there. My person said it would sometimes come down to eat or do its business, but I never saw it come down.
Then one day that cat got tired of hanging around up there and decided to come down in broad daylight. And it turned out it wasn’t an ornament at all.
I got to meet Scratchy, the cat who lives at my house. I was really excited because now I had someone new to play with.
But Scratchy didn’t want to play with me.
I tried everything.
I even learned about cat claws. They hurt.
Scratchy became the bane of my existence.
And all I wanted to do was play.
Maybe we could put Scratchy back on top of those cabinets and get a more playful floor cat.

Will and Eko, this is what happens every time I try to play with Scratchy. He’s just no fun.

I am wondering how can ANYONE stay indifferent at your presence! Have you tried talking to him?
Ornament Scratchy really puzzles me!

Marina, Scratchy’s just an old stick in the mud. He doesn’t ever want to play. My person says it might be because of that old part. He’s fourteen years old, but he doesn’t seem old to me.

You are right, he doesn’t look old, at all…
Well, you can always have conversations with him, on philosophical matters!

Cats have no sense of humor! Loved it!

Thanks. I think the world would be a better place if cats could laugh.

Cats can be sooo cranky huh Bongo! My Moe is always looking to get me in trouble & he’s the one who ALWAYS starts it! But does he get yelled at? Nooooo….all I get is “Looooola – let it be”.

Lola, cats are always up to no good. It seems like it’s always that way. They start things and us dogs get the blame.

No Bongo, you can’t just make a cat an ornament again 🙂 Poor thing, I know you just want to play and boy do I know how much cat claws can hurt. Litchi gets it a lot but at least it’s in play mode.

Susan, you mean I can’t put Scratchy back on top of the cabinets and maybe glue him down? He got named Scratchy for a reason, but my person says I have to tell you that my younger person was only six when he named him that.

It looks like Scratchy is just the right name for him! You never know though, Bongo, maybe he will come around…one day 🙂

Remy, that name fits him perfectly and I think he thinks he has to live up to it.

I think that ornament is named Scratchy for a very good reason. Be careful, B.!

Cupcake, Scratchy thinks he has to live up to his name. My younger person was only six when he named Scratchy, but there was a reason he named him that.

Bongo, I have two cat ornaments which sit atop the doorways but they are wood, not fur and claws. No wonder you call him Scratchy :).

Roberta, I think I like your cat ornaments better. They stay where they’re put.

Our cat ornaments are NOT stable! Besides there are always some fights among those cats( we have three now) which make mom very exhausted….
Your cat ornament is pretty cute! It’s a bit shame that Scratchy seems to not like playing with you, Bongo….*whispers* our kitties doesn’t like me either…

Kevin, I don’t know what it is with those cats. If they’d just be more playful we’d all have a great time. Scratchy wouldn’t play with me today so I kicked him out of the sunny spot.

Oh Bongo, your smile and gestures are sooooooooooooo incredibly sweet and friendly! I think Scratchy must have a very serious early childhood trauma – otherwise his refusal is inexplicable.

Kolytyi, Scratchy says his only trauma in life was when I came to live here. There’s something wrong with that cat.

Bongo, 10 month living as an ornament is a long time, now I understand why Scratchy doesn’t want to play, she can’t move anymore 🙂

Angels Whisper and Little Binky, I made Scratchy go to the vet today. He didn’t catch any tics from me but since he got home he turned into an ornament again. All I did was stick my nose into his cat cage before he got out of it.
