Today is National Dog Day. But since some of my friends live in different countries, it’s also called International Dog Day. That should take care of everybody.
Since this is a special holiday for me and all my dog buddies I think we ought to celebrate.
I’ve been thinking all week of what I’m going to do for National Dog Day.
First, I’m going to banish all the thunder for the day. I might need God’s help for that, but I’m sure He’ll understand. After all, I don’t think He’d want me to be frightened on my special day.
.
Then, I’m going to go for a long walk – and I’ll find that my puddle has grown so big that I can go swimming in it.
Then, when I get back home I’m going to eat lots of treats.
I might even eat some ice cream.
By then, I’m sure I’ll be so tired that I’ll be ready for a nice, long nap.
And you know what I’m going to do while I’m taking that nap?
I’ll be dreaming about what I’m going to do for National Dog Day next year.
Maybe I’ll adopt a puppy.

Patrecia, we’re only a one dog, one cat household and I still can’t talk my person into getting a puppy for me to play with.

Cupcake, I still have to come up with another idea – how to convince my person that getting a new puppy is important.

Happy doggy day, Bongo!
I notice you left out a couple of things you’d do on this day
1. you obviously mean FISH and treats!
2. we all know where that lovely nap will take place, don’t we?!!!
Enjoy your day, Bongo, although for you guys -speaking about your girlfried over here too- every day is Dog Day!!!

We had fun too at our park…running and saying hi to all the kids at school… 😉

Penny, that’s so cool that you get to hang out with the kids at school. Sometimes the kids find their way to my trails, but only a few of them.

AWWW, if you could find a puppy on your trails or in your puddle! You could save him and it would be no question whether you could keep him!
Bongo
August 27, 2013 at 12:02 pm
Kolytyi, I hope that happens. So far all the puppies and dogs on my trails have brought their people along with them. The only things I’ve found around my puddle are the toadies and they’re too little to play with – although I bet Scratchy would have fun with them.

Daydreamer, swimming is one of my favorite things to do – but I hardly ever get to go somewhere with a swimming hole.

Well, you’ve got yourself the best Dog Day of your..day. I’ve never seen your puddle so high, Bongo, the toads must have had a spell on it. Sleep tight 🙂

Little Binky, I’m not sure what those toads did – but after they did it they left. I haven’t seen them since my puddle came back a few days ago.
