I never find treats on my trails – well, except for weeds, that is.
But today I found an apple. I like apples.
So I hurried over to see what this was all about.
Why was an apple sitting on my trails – right in broad daylight for me to eat?
I guess I really don’t need to solve this mystery – I just need to eat it.
So I thought I would savor the moment, taking in all the juicy good smells of this apple.
Mmmm, this smells good! I think I even sense a trace of little kid smell on here. I wonder how that smell got on this apple.
I guess it doesn’t matter. It’s time to chomp away.
Wait! What?
What are you doing person?
You can’t drag me away!
I’m just getting ready to eat this apple.
Person, you don’t understand?
Don’t you get it? This isn’t one of the normal smells on my trails.
Can’t you see that apple?
Person! Hey person!
Noooooooooo!

Oh my heavens! I so feel you Bongo. What was your human thinking? I salivate just looking at the picture. I *love* me some apples. Free food – the nerve of pulling you away! XOXO – Bacon

Bacon, I just can’t figure my person out sometimes. If she wouldn’t let me eat it, at least she should have eaten it. What a waste of a good treat.

Exactly my friend! I would have made mincemeat out of that apple in three seconds flat. XOXO – Bacon

Bongo, you like apples? I’ve never tried those. Mama!

Ku, make sure your mama lets you try apples. They’re really good, and they’re good for you too. Usually all I get is the core though, and my person takes the seeds out first.

Sorry Bongo. I drag Wall-E away from treats on his trails too. The problem is there are bad persons out there who will leave yummy treats with bad things in them and they will make you sick if you eat them.
Your person was only trying to keep you safe. Even if you don’t understand it.

Wall-E, maybe if we both pulled together at the same time we could reach all the treats we find on our trails.

Poor you! But food that’s been on the ground awhile might not be safe – better to “leave it” (that’s a hard command to obey isn’t it!)
Bongo
November 12, 2013 at 1:53 pm
Toby, I’m good at “drop it,” but that’s because it’s usually a ball or something that my person is going to throw for me again. I don’t ever want to leave food. Someone else might get it when I could have eaten it first.

No no no Bongo, don’t eat that apple!!!! Remember the story of Adam and Eve? …if not, remember the story of Snow White who ate the poisonous apple?!!!!

Marina, you mean if I ate that apple I could get kicked off of my trails – or take a really long nap?

Maybe… and you wouldn’t want either, would you?

A dirty apple….all for the taking…and you are pulled away?!? How unfair!

Do you believe it Oz? It’s totally unfair. I don’t know what this world is coming to.

We are sorry you didn’t get to eat the beautiful apple just laying there. Mom must have thought that someone left it there because there was sethi h wrong with it that would make you sick. Our Mom won’t let us eat anything just laying on the ground during our walks either.

Lexie and Mica, I’m thinking a little kid dropped that apple and knew that I would come along to eat it. I just wish I could have convinced my person of that.

GAH! So close! I’m sorry you missed that apple, B. it looks delicious. The geese left me some candy today, but I got yanked away, too. Bummer.
Love and licks,

Cupcake, our people seem to spoil all our fun – and treats. That goose candy sounds good. We don’t have geese around here. I have to settle from cat treats from the litter box.

If you don’t grab it bongo, the ants will be all over it, then it’ll be yucky…well not yucky enough to pass up, but yucky.

Lola, the ants didn’t get it and my person still won’t let me have it. I think all the ants have gone underground for the winter.

Oh, no sweet Bongo, your mouth must have been watering. Sure hope you got a real special treat later after not getting to dive into that good lookin’ apple. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, it was horrible having to leave that treat. And I love apples. I’m going to have to get after my person to give me some of her apples. Hugs and nose kisses back to you.

Doesn’t she know an apple a day keeps the dogter away?
Bongo
November 13, 2013 at 10:56 am
Dalton, maybe that’s why my person wanted me to stay away from that apple. I’d miss all my treats and loves at the vet.

Oh no….poor Bongo…I understand how you feel…but your person and Marina are right. The apple might have poison in it! How dangerous it is! I don’t want to miss you, Bongo!!!
Bongo
November 13, 2013 at 10:59 am
Kevin, I think I should be immune to poison but my person says no. I guess I’ll just have to have her give me some of her apples.
