I think I’ve got it figured out now.
My first attempt today didn’t work.
That was when my person went outside and then it thundered.
I pushed the door to the garage open and escaped through the open garage door.
I ran down the street and found one of my person’s friends driving by and he let me into his truck.
I thought he was going to drive me away from the thunder, but instead he took me to my neighbor’s house and my neighbor took me back home.
And there was still thunder there.
So later in the day when I took my person for a walk, I tried a new tactic.
I’ve heard of people running in a squiggly path to avoid being hit when someone is shooting at them.

So I decided I’d try that same thing with the thunder. I hardly stayed on the trail at all.
And it worked.
There was no thunder the whole time I was on my walk.
Even though Gizmo was doing his best to evoke thunder in his sleep.
You’re going to have to do better than that Gizmo.
Because I beat the thunder today!

Thanks Patrecia. That worked for awhile. Now the thunder’s back. Guess I’ve got to come up with something new.

Thanks SciFi. Anything to beat that thunder. The vest helps a little, but not near enough.

Bravo, Bongo!!!!! Well thought! 🙂 It seems that the same thunder is after your friend here too. She has another method of beating it. She goes IN the bathtub [which she utterly hates any other day]. We seriously have to drive thunder in the middle of the ocean. The fish wouldn’t mind! 🙂

Marina, maybe the fish would swim away from the thunder and show up where we could catch them. And I think I might have to try that bathtub idea.

Hmmm, now why didn’t I think of that about the fish?!
She says bathtub is strong and thunderproof! 🙂

We are pretty sure there is less thunder if you stay hiding at home

Lily & Edward, that thunder creeps in everywhere. I haven’t figured out how to get rid of it for good.

Ooooh Bongo, we have thunder here right now & I’ll bet Moe did that same trick Gizmo did. It’s just everywhere & it gets all inside your ears…don’t like that at all! I’m glad you went with a neighbor though & not a stranger – your person has to talk to you about stranger danger.

Lola, those cats are for sure up to no good. But my person has met some of my neighbors because of me. This time I got lucky and found someone who knew me.

Gah! No more running down the street, B. The zig-zag pattern seems to have confused the thunder. Stick with that. You don’t want to have to face the thunder without your person to protect you!

Cupcake, I agree but sometimes my person won’t run from the thunder with me.

Way to go Bongo! Just don’t run down the street anymore if you can help it my friend.

Marty, running down the street is fun when there’s not thunder – but for some reason my person disapproves.

Kevin, I’m working on some permanent strategies for that thunder. But I might have to do something about Gizmo first.
