Diggers

12 Apr

Bongo watching the construction vehicles

My trails were really quiet today. Not much going on.

At least after I got far enough away from the noise of the diggers.

I sure hope those diggers leave some of the digging for us dogs to do.

But speaking of dogs, there weren’t any on my trails today – well, besides me, that is.

Or people either.

Like I said, it was really quiet.

Except for this quail.

He was making a lot of noise.

Good thing for him he was too high for me to chase.

But other than the birds—

Bongo on the secret trail

Hardly anybody knows the secret entrance to my trails.

Your trail is safe with that prickly pear guarding it. So nice to hike along with you!

Thanks Karen. You’re right – no one can get past a prickly pear.

You’re a better digger than all those guys, B. Quite trails are the best time to dig.

Oh a secret entrance. What are those diggers doing? Are you going to have new neighbors?

Fredrieka, just new visitors. They’re making the parking lot to my trails bigger.

You better guard that path, Bongo! We don’t want any intruders in there, do we?!
I hope you’ve left your messages around just to make sure, right?!

Marina, I left a really long message there. No one will dare pass by now.

Mary, when they’re done I think I’ll have to walk through more parking lot to get to my trails. But I get a couple months of pretty quiet trails. Except for those quails. They sure are noisy sometimes.

Lily & Edward, mostly the quail around here just hang out on the ground. But sometimes the boy quails are looking for a girlfriend and then they get up high and make lots of noise.

That’s for sure Kevin. So far they haven’t dug under the bone tree. I didn’t hide those bones but somebody put a bunch of bones under that tree. I hope they leave that tree alone.

Seems like a lot of activity in your neck of the woods Bongo. Hopefully the quail will keep an eye on the diggers when you go home.

Never trust a quail. Just when you think you can depend on them they run off into the bushes.
