Confession of a Litter Box Junkie

13 Oct

Bongo Checking Out the Litter BoxI have a confession to make. I am a litter box junkie. Every time my person leaves the house I head straight for it. I can’t help myself. Scratchy even has one with a lid on it but that doesn’t stop me. I push it around until I can stick my head into it and then I look for those little rolls in the litter. They’re like crunchy treats. Sometimes the treats are hard to get and I end up sliding the litter box all the way across the room in my struggles.

My person says I’ve probably grossed you out by now, but I can’t help myself. I don’t feel sorry for doing this. I’m not planning to stop. It’s just something I’ve gotta do. I’m actually doing my person a favor. She doesn’t have to clean the litter box nearly as often.

I’m glad Scratchy is an only cat though. Sometimes I find him inside doing his business when I poke my head in. I could be in real trouble if I looked inside and found two cats in the litter box.

Mario, you mean I’m not the only one. I guess maybe I should take that confession back.

Bongo, you are just like my pups Harley and Scarlett! I bet your breath smells just as good as theirs after gobbling one down!

Bongo, we should start our own 12-step program. I’ve got it so bad Jen put up a gate to keep me outta the room where the litter box is.

Rumpy I like that idea. My person says her church is doing Celebrate Recovery. It’s a 12-step program for any kind of hurts, habits, or hangups. We should fit right in.

Bongo, our doggies do the exactly the same thing. It is gross but not much can be done to stop it. We have learned not to do it in the house, but we sure do hunt for it outside.

Marg, Scratchy stays in the house so I have to sneak it when my people aren’t looking.

At least you go after Scratchy’s treats, and not your own.

Cat treats are the best. I ignore mine and only check out the smells from other dogs.

This just made me laugh my ass off a bit. Good thing we don’t have a litterbox. But i think the puppies smell the cats on the grass when we go for our walk.

Yashikibuta, I found out I wasn’t alone after I posted this. Lots of my dog friends like litter boxes too.

Bassa, Rumpy and I realize we need a 12-step program for dogs.

We have had some of those around here. Mumsy has those litterboxes where the woofies can’t get to them now. Mumsy thinks that just sounds stinky and yucky. 🙂 Hugs and nose kisses

Mumsy, my person thinks it’s stinky and yucky too, but I hope she never gets a litter box that I can’t break in to.
