Can You Walk to Indiana?

08 Nov

Bongo in a JetMy person is leaving today and I’ve got to stay home with my younger person. I have to watch over him and make sure he gets up in time for school. He won’t let me in his room though. He says I get too much hair everywhere. So I guess I’ll just have to scratch on his door.

I’m not sure where my person is going. She says it’s someplace called Indiana. I don’t know where that is but I know it’s a long way from Arizona. My person says she can’t even walk there. She says if she tried it would be a very long time before I would see her again.

She says she’s going to get in her car but I’m not allowed to get in with her. She has to drive for two hours to a place called an airport in Phoenix and get on something called an airplane that will fly her to Indiana. She pointed out an airplane that was flying overhead and said it is like a very large bird that people can fly inside of. I’m not sure I’d want to trust the insides of a bird’s belly.

Since my person won’t be here to help me write my blogs I had her help me do some ahead. She said she’d try to post them but her schedule might be all screwed up. Somehow I think my person is losing sight of her priorities.

I hope your human has fun. Tell your human that she can schedule her posts ahead of time. On the right of the page she’ll see a box that says publish immediately then edit. Click on edit, choose the date and time she wants the post to publish and then OK. The publish button will change to read schedule. Maybe that will help her.

Thanks Rumpy. I told my person about that and she said she didn’t know that before and it helps her a lot. She already has tomorrow’s post scheduled.

Safe travels to your human. Indiana is a different place from Arizona for sure. 🙂

Brown Dawgs, my person says she made it safely, but it’s too flat there for her. It’s a good thing. That means she’ll be coming back home soon.

Safe travels. Don’t get lonely Bongo–make it your mission to get in your younger person’s room. Sometimes doors aren’t latched all the way, maybe you can push your way in first–you get the picture. 😉

Katy, I’ve tried that sneaking in thing and my younger person doesn’t like it when I do, so I just lay outside his room and he can trip over me when he comes out.

    Hi Bongo,
I *should* know Indiana is a long way from AZ…we live in both places, but mostly Indiana right now. Looking forward to hearing about where your human visited while here. Katyoparty has a good idea – I’ll bet there are some interesting sniffs in your younger person’s room. 😉 Hoping your person has a very good time while in Indiana. You won’t have to worry about her not returning, Bongo. We have trails here, but definitely no scenery that is like where you live.

Lindy, my person is hanging out in Noblesville and Fishers. She said there’s a nice mall near her hotel where she went and had dinner. I wish she’d bring me a doggie bag.

I love the Bongo-plane illustration. 🙂 If scratching on your younger person’s door doesn’t work, you can try to suck all of the air out of his room. That’s what Gertie does. She lies down with her snout in the space under the door and just snuffles and huffs and puffs.

Iowa Dogs, I wonder if I sucked the air out of my younger person’s room if he would have to get out of bed sooner. I think I’ll try it.

I hate it when my person goes without me, but sometimes she does. She tells me I wouldn’t have any fun where she’ll be and I’m better off staying at home. When I do get to go along on her trips, we have a great time, but we go in a car. I’ve never been on an airplane. I think that would be a scary thing to do.

Lola, I don’t think I’d like flying in an airplane either. At least my younger person stayed home with me this time. I really don’t like it when they both go and make me stay in the dog hotel.

We had a dog watched for airplanes flying across the yard; he jumped straight up and barked until they clear the yard. We never knew if he was guarding the yard or trying to talk to someone in the plane. Now you really make me wonder…he was a very smart dog…

Karen, I’m sure that dog was trying to talk to someone in the plane – or maybe to the plane itself. My people just watched a preview for a Pixar movie called Planes and the planes can talk.

Wonderbutt’s person, I guess my person must really trust me since she left me to take care of my younger person.

Aw, sorry your person has to leave you Bongo. On the other hand, sounds like she might have some fun! We too are going out of town this weekend but since we’re driving the whole way, the pups get to come. Roory is very upset because she has to stay all alone. I hope Scratchy and your younger person keep you company this weekend!

Deannamelanie, sometimes Scratchy gets left alone too – but I’m usually at the dog hotel then. At least my younger person stayed home with me this time.
