Dammed Up

30 Dec

Bongo exploring the puddle with the new damI’m busy investigating. You see, when I was out walking on the trails today and I stopped by my puddle I found that somebody had dammed it up.

At first I thought maybe my puddle had been visited by beavers, but my person told me that beavers don’t use rocks as their building materials – and besides I’ve never seen a beaver anywhere near my puddle.

I hope I can find some clues as to who built this dam in my puddle. There might have been some puny puddle people who showed up in the middle of the night and wanted a larger puddle. The puddle is changing because of the dam. There are now green plants floating in it. Maybe the puddle will change into a lake now and I’ll have a swimming hole.

That would be so cool – to have a swimming hole on my trails. Unless those puny puddle people decided to turn into large lake lizards and try to share the swimming hole with me. I’m not sure how that would work out.

I think I’ll wade across now and hit the trail on the other side.

Sounds like you live an adventurous life! I’ll live vicariously through you as I am a house cat… Can’t wait to read your other adventures.

Lilly, nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I’ll stop by and check out your site too. I live with a house cat named Scratchy. Sometimes he steals my blog, but I get really upset when he does that.

Wow! Are the plants Growing from the puddle?? Are they attached to the ground in the rock? Maybe you found a new ecosystem Bongo!!

Jaxart4animals, they are really strange plants. They just float around in the water and they weren’t there the day before. They must be very fast growing.

    Bongo,

Madam Lasagna blames “The Teenagers.” She blames them for every strange thing because they have the effrontery to walk past her driveway twice each day to and from the school bus stop!!!

I think Madam Lasagna might be right. “The Teenagers” know how to get into all kinds of mischief when they want to. Much more than us dogs – but I think they’ve been watching us because we know a thing or two that they don’t.

    Keep up the great posts!!!

    God Bless You!

Trevor, that’s a good idea. There’s only one problem. This puddle is so far along on my trails that I have nothing left to fill it up with.

I hope you figure it out soon, Bongo. I love stepping in puddles and would be most upset if I found mine were dammed up. So I wish you all the luck in figuring it out!

Henry, it’s still a mystery. I keep hoping that dam will help the puddle get bigger though. So far that hasn’t worked.

Gotta watch those damming puddle people they could mess up your trail. They need to be told they must submit a Bongo Build Permit.

Hmmmm…mystery again… I wonder who built the dam? Bongo, your territory has intruders quite often, doesn’t it? I think you should hire security guards when you are away from there! BOL!
In 7hrs, we’ll have a New Year here, so Bongo, please have a Happy New Year in 2012!!! love from Kevin xx

I say’ What a cheek to put a dam on your puddle! I agree with Bassas, a stake out and video. Maybe we should have a sit in as well..sit in the middle of the puddle and protest.

I love puddles..but not as much as I love you

That is a mystery. Is it a creek or something? What are they damming up?

If the water is still, be careful for weird algae that can make doggies sickie.

Brown Dawgs, the puddle is only a creek when it’s raining. I tried to drink some of the water the other day and my person got mad at me and made me get away from the puddle.

That would be great, Bongo, a private swimmingpool. I’m sure the ppp wil share it with you, how could they reject? 🙂 Bongo, I try to reply on your new year’s story, but the url doesn’t work, so I wish you from here a very happy new year, our new year begins in about 7,30 hours and you’re person is right: intentions are not only for the new year, they start at the moment you want to make the change. Hope to see you in the New Year. Take care 🙂

Angel’s Whisper, I was really looking forward to a swimming hole on my trails, but the puny puddle people are turning it into a punier puddle again. My person says she accidentally hit the publish button on my New Year’s post when she was fixing the formatting that didn’t transfer correctly from Word. (I don’t have any idea what she’s talking about – but she said the post will be up shortly.) Happy New Year to you.

Would that be great if you got enough water to make a swimming hole on your trail walk. That way you could swim on your walls like we do in the creek when it has enough water 🙂

Especially the pond turning into the lake thing…we all need that as not many lakes are left coz of global warming.

Epizeuxis, the global warming must be taking care of my pond. There’s been no rain and it’s shrinking.
