Today my people put my leash on and took me out to the 4Runner. They got it not too long ago and I’ve never been in it before. This is really strange.
So where were we going? The vet, or the dog hotel? I don’t see any suitcases, so I don’t think it’s the dog hotel. But my younger person never goes to the vet with us. I’m really confused.
It doesn’t take this long to get to the vet. Where are we going? We’ve been in the car a very long time.
It’s getting very bumpy now. Come on people. Where are we going?
What? Is this it? There’s a trail here. It’s not part of my usual trails. I didn’t know there were more trails. Wow! New smells and all! Where are we?
Okay people, you can look at the scenery. I’m checking out the smells. Sycamore Canyon, huh?
Come on, it’s downhill. Do I have to drag you, or are you going to start running?
Hey, there’s water here. This is fun!
No, I don’t want to get out. There’s more trail? I like the water.
A swimming hole!!!??? No way! You’ve never taken me to a swimming hole before.
Come on, throw the stick again.
This is the most fun day I’ve had ever! Can we come back here tomorrow?

That looks gorgeous, Bongo! And fun! We could try out Wonderbutt’s Hurley toy there. But you would probably have to retrieve it for him. Mrs. P.I.B. won’t go anywhere her feet can’t touch. And Wonderbutt is just barely buoyant.
Bongo
January 16, 2012 at 1:32 pm
I bet Wonderbutt and Mrs. P.I.B. would have fun there even if they didn’t go swimming. The trails full of dead leaves were great too – and I would be glad to retrieve Wonderbutt’s Hurley toy for him.

OMG. Did you say DEAD LEAVES? We could probably just leave Wonderbutt there for a day and he would be a happy dog!

Wonderbutt would love it there. Parts of the trail were full of dead leaves.

Thanks Jaxart4animals. My younger person had to go check out that cave before we left. Sycamore Canyon is pretty awesome.

Karen, I have some problems with that coming when I’m called thing – but if I have something to fetch I’ll bring it back so it can be thrown for me again.

What a great time you must have had Bongo! And what a good swimmer you are! [your person has taken some really nice shots!] Question: was the water not COLD?!!!
Bongo
January 17, 2012 at 11:50 am
Thanks Marina. I really love swimming so I don’t care if the water’s cold or not. It was actually a pretty warm day. My people had light jackets on and they had to take them off once they started hiking.

Kevin, this was the first time my people took me swimming, but they figured I’d like it because I love playing in water so much. My person can’t turn on the garden hose without me getting in the spray. We do have lots of pretty places around here – I just wish the pretty ones with swimming holes were closer to my house.
