There it goes! I kept it around longer than I really wanted to, but I was running short on squeaky toys so what could I do? It was dirty, stinky, and yucky – even more than I want to put up with – but I kept it. I made it last. I even stashed it for awhile so I didn’t have to think about it. Because it just didn’t have that zip anymore. That bright, shiny, sunshine cheer that I loved to squeeze until the squeaks came out.
But guess what sunshine? I don’t need you anymore. I’ve got more toys with squeakers now, and you know what? I’m going to reach right inside of you and yank your little squeaker right out. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time and now I’m good and ready. You won’t even have time to think about the pain, ‘cause here I go.
Riiiiiiiiip! Out comes your stuffing.
Let’s see how clean I can make this surgery. I’ll even let you keep most of your stuffing. But I’m gonna get it. I’m gonna get what I want. The center of you – that thing that keeps you alive – makes you squeak when I squeeze.
Got it now. All mine! Oh, and I lied about keeping most of your stuffing inside.
Okay person, do what you’ve gotta do.
On to my next squeaky toy.

Sweet Kitten, that sunshine had a good life. My person bought it for a Vacation Bible School activity. It was in the party section of the store. When she saw that it was a dog toy she gave it to me after Vacation Bible School was over.

Kibble, I usually restrain myself from tearing my toys apart, but sometimes it’s just so much fun.

Better watch it Bongo, or your human might get you rawhide chews instead of the squeeky ones and then what’ll you do?

Sandra, I eat the rawhide chews but I wish they would squeak.

Oh-Oh! What’s happened to the “missing” stuffing? [or maybe I don’t want to know!] it looks like your person was having an even greater time capturing the moment! RIP sunshine. Beware though of the ghost of sunshine! [some persons stitch them back together…!]

Thanks, Bongo, now I know why my friend Tucker maltese does this! He just wants something different and at that squeaker, which, by the way, he has a hard time getting it to squeak. Hmmmm. That may be another reason he rips it apart. 🙂
Bongo
January 21, 2012 at 6:49 pm
Leslie, squeaker toys aren’t much good if you can’t get them to squeak – so you might as well rip out the squeaker.

Okay, I get it now. My two darlings have set upon poor old donkey. First I stitched his eyes shut, then I stitched them shut again. My two furry friends take turns at digging out his insides and when I ask them what happened they look wide eyed and shocked. Hmmm – Thanks for the heads up Bongo.
