Popsicle Weeds

07 Feb

Popsicle WeedsAround my house weeds grow year round. We get different ones in the summer and more of them, but we have a few winter weeds too. Sometimes weeds are tasty treats and I like to go out into my yard and munch. My person doesn’t like it when I do, so I have to try to do it on the sly.

The other day I found a new kind of weed. I tried to eat it but it was a bit stiff and didn’t have much flavor. And it was cold – and frosty.

I think it was a popsicle weed. But I would be really embarrassed sharing this popsicle weed as is, so I need to make some improvements in it. My person says people popsicles have flavors like cherry, or grape, or lemon.

Well those flavors don’t work for me so I thought maybe I’d try peanut butter popsicle weeds, and maybe cheese popsicle weeds. And I could make some chicken flavor and beef flavor popsicle weeds too.

I’m going to get right on this so I can share these new treats with all my friends. I just have one thing to work out before I get started.

Does anybody know how to get frozen peanut butter to stick to a weed?

What about chocolate flavor and beer flavor, Bongo?

Sweet Kitten, I might have to get you to send over the ingredients for the chocolate and beer flavored popsicle weeds. My person won’t give them to me.

That’s a tough one Bongo! Use your ingenuity …OR you can find a way to convince your person to do it for you [less effort too!].

Marina, my person is telling me I have to unfrozen peanut butter on the weeds, refrain from eating it, and leave it overnight. I don’t think I could keep myself from eating it so I still have a problem.

Bassetmomma, I’ll keep working on it – but I think I might run out of peanut butter before I figure it out.

Maybe you could put the unfrozen peanut butter on the weeds on a day you are going to doggie daycare and when you come home you will have the popsicles.

Patricia, that’s a good idea, but I’m not sure the peanut butter would last more than a few seconds after I put it on the weeds – unless my person drags me away from it.

I’ve always had a problem with the weed designation since the day my father told me dandelions were weeds. To me, nothing is a weed as long as you think it’s beautiful. Or tasty.

Wonderbutt’s person, we have a few things in our yard that my person lets stick around because they have pretty little flowers, but there’s lots of things that are just plain weeds – except of course the ones I like to eat.

Personally, you should, on the sly, just eat the PB and get Scratchy to get you some (on the sly) ice cream from the fridge and then mix the weed, ice cream and PB (if any leftover) up in a blender–add some healthy protein powder in case your persons catches you red handed. In that case, when she does, just smile sweetly like you do, and say it’s your own Rambo-licious protein shake. How can she say no to that?? 🙂

Sunshine, that sounds like a great idea. Hey Scratchy, can you get some ice cream for me? Never mind, wait until our people are gone. Then we’ll do it.
