Hey person, what do you think this is, a nature photography blog? This is my blog after all, and I don’t want any pictures of those dumb cactus flowers on it. I mean, what are they good for? You can’t even see if they smell good because if you try you might get pricklers up your nose. And I know they’re not good for eating. I wouldn’t even think of taking a bite. And you know me, I eat almost anything.
Now look at this. A tennis ball, waiting for me, right in the middle of my trail. Now that’s something to put on my blog. It’s not every day that a tennis ball shows up. Here’s a newsworthy item. Take a picture of it.
Hey, what are you doing taking more pictures of that stupid cactus? You’re taking more pictures of that than my tennis ball. C’mon, I need more pictures of the tennis ball.
Okay, I’ll let you put one more picture up. Only because I need you to help me write my blog. That picture there. You can put that one up. That cactus has personality. It looks like a Transformer.

Nice tennis ball, Bongo = and nice transformer cactus – bet you didnt get too close!
May 4, 2012 at 12:19 pm
Susan, I stayed far away from that Transformer Cactus – but the tennis ball was fair game.
May 4, 2012 at 10:38 am
I don’t know, Bongo, but I think the cactus flower does look pretty too! Not as pretty as you though!
May 4, 2012 at 12:20 pm
Thanks Sweet Kitten. You deserve lots of slobbery kisses for saying that.
May 4, 2012 at 11:40 am
A spikey transformer!
May 4, 2012 at 12:20 pm
Dianda, I don’t think anyone will get near that Transformer.
May 4, 2012 at 1:43 pm
Hey bongo, jet here. While JJ and I think the tennis ball is way cool, gotta say Mom thinks the flower and cactus are exquisite.
May 4, 2012 at 2:54 pm
Hey Jet, I just can’t figure out people. Why would anybody like a flower over a tennis ball?
May 4, 2012 at 9:25 pm
Beats me dude… I’m with ya all the way.
May 4, 2012 at 2:33 pm
Oh my gosh Bongo, you are just hilarious!!!
May 4, 2012 at 2:55 pm
Thanks Yashikibuta. I aim to please – or tickle your funny bone.

hi Bongo, …so that’s what the flower looks like…we have a similar cactus potted in the upper garden …and yep they have dangerous needles for weapons…xoxox Vanilla Bean
May 4, 2012 at 2:59 pm
Vanilla Bean, you’ve really got to watch out for the pricklers on those cactus. Some cactus have different colored flowers but they’re all pretty. At least my person thinks so. I’m still voting for the tennis ball.
May 4, 2012 at 3:02 pm
I SO agree with you, Bongo. That tennis ball is beautiful! It brought a tear to my eye….
Love and licks,
May 4, 2012 at 6:41 pm
Cupcake, you are my kind of dog.
May 4, 2012 at 3:34 pm
That tennis ball looks like it has some super aromatic messages to pass along!
May 4, 2012 at 6:42 pm
Patricia, it did. One of my trail dog friends dropped it there.
May 4, 2012 at 4:37 pm
Oh Bongo. If any dog was going to like transformers it would be you! 😀
May 4, 2012 at 6:43 pm
Flo, my person never lets me watch Transformers at home so I have to go out on my trails to see it.
May 4, 2012 at 5:59 pm
Be careful of that cactus!
Stop on by for a visit
May 4, 2012 at 6:46 pm
Kari, I learned my cactus lesson a long time ago. I stay far away from them.
May 4, 2012 at 6:37 pm
Those Cactus flowers are beautiful!!! 🙂 Lad says its great you found a ball! YAY!! Ginger says throw the camera in the cactus and you wont have to see cactus pictures anymore…. sigh… Dad says Ginger is Satan Spawn… LOL
God Bless You!
The naughty collies and chuck 🙂
May 4, 2012 at 6:49 pm
Collies, I think Ginger has the best idea yet. Tell your dad to look the other way. I’ll make sure my person isn’t looking when I do it. I’ve just got to figure out how to get that camera away from her without her suspecting anything.
May 4, 2012 at 7:40 pm
I think your tennios ball is better than any flower bongo….cant have fun with a flower….Woof..Woof!
May 4, 2012 at 7:57 pm
Penny, I totally agree. I don’t know what people see in those flowers. I mean, what are they good for?
May 4, 2012 at 8:00 pm
I like that flower… can ya eat it?
May 4, 2012 at 8:05 pm
Rumpy, I’d be afraid that the flower would give me pricklers.
May 4, 2012 at 9:55 pm
Bongo, what beautiful flowers! I’m so glad your person took these photos.
May 4, 2012 at 11:25 pm
Monica, my person says thank you. I just wish she would have taken more tennis ball pictures.
May 4, 2012 at 11:47 pm
You and Henry are two peas in a pod. He just loves tennis balls, too. In fact, he wrote a post today and wrote about a tennis ball that another dog was playing with, which Henry thought was his. Go figure.
May 5, 2012 at 11:50 am
Monica, I just stopped by and read Henry’s post. I might be a commoner compared to him, but we sure think alike.
May 4, 2012 at 10:12 pm
Bongo, do I detect a jealous streak? 😉 Did the cactus get TOO much attention from your person?
May 4, 2012 at 11:26 pm
Jessica, I guess if my person gets me more tennis balls I’ll be okay with it.
May 4, 2012 at 11:58 pm
O, Bongo, the … tennisball is amazing. You said something about transformers. Has it anything to do with the footprint near to the amazing tennisball 🙂
May 5, 2012 at 11:51 am
Angels Whisper, do you think a Transformer left that tennis ball there?
May 5, 2012 at 1:07 am
It looks like your person is taking too many liberties! Got to give her credit though… that cactus looks really nice. Not that it can compare to the tennis ball, No, No!!!
May 5, 2012 at 11:52 am
Marina, I’m glad you see it my way. More tennis balls and less cactus on my blog.
May 5, 2012 at 2:09 am
Woof! Woof! My mom LOVEs to take photos of flower too especially we live in a flower farm. She plans to share it soon. oh BTW Love tennis ball too. Happy BLOG Hop Weekend. Lots of Golden ALOHA n Woofs, Sugar
May 5, 2012 at 11:53 am
Sugar, that must be pretty cool to live in a flower farm. Do any of those flowers taste good? Have a great weekend.
May 5, 2012 at 6:32 am
That cactus flower is sooo beautiful!!! The color is perfect, too! We have some cactuses in our tiny garden, but they rarely have flowers…besides they look unhealthy….we don’t know why…but very hard to grow cactuses, we think. Personally I prefer tennis balls to cactuses!!! Woof!!! 🙂
May 5, 2012 at 12:00 pm
Kevin, my person says cacti like hot, dry climates which is why you mostly find them in the desert. Where we live is considered high desert and a few varieties grow here, but not all of them because it gets too cold in the winter. Tennis balls are better anyway, and you can find them everywhere.
Paws To Talk
May 5, 2012 at 8:08 pm
Bongo tell your person we prefer the pictures of you playing with the rare tennis ball even though the desert is pretty. More Bongo!
Bella and DiDi
May 5, 2012 at 11:13 pm
Bella and DiDi, I think there are more votes for the tennis ball. I’d better be sure to tell my person.
May 6, 2012 at 8:14 am
Great! Now you’ve started it. Maya & Pierson are adamant that the photograph of the ball is better. No matter how much I point out how beautiful that cactus flower is as compared to the dirty sticky ball, they just won’t give in. 😀
May 6, 2012 at 3:43 pm
Maya and Pierson know beauty when they see it. What do you people see in those cactus flowers anyway? You can’t play catch with them – you can’t eat them. What good are they?
May 6, 2012 at 3:56 pm
Bongo, the German here, – That tennis ball looks like my tennis ball…but I don’t think anyone here can throw that far! Very strange!
May 6, 2012 at 4:14 pm
German, maybe the wind blew your tennis ball over to my trails. Do you want me to send it back to you? I could send it by Express Mail.
May 6, 2012 at 4:28 pm
The German: “Thanks Bongo, but my person says lots of tennis balls look the same. Maybe that boot print is a clue to how it got there? Anyway I hope it isn’t there all alone on the trail….Tennis ball don’t like to be orphans – they are only happy if being chased by a dog!”
May 7, 2012 at 6:33 am
The cactus is beautiful but I just don’t think you can have too many pictures of a dirty ole tennis ball!
May 7, 2012 at 3:01 pm
Bassetmomma, I’m so glad you said that. Maybe my person will listen now since you said that and you’re not even a dog.
May 10, 2012 at 9:04 pm
Oh Bongo I love those Cactus flowers I’ve never seen one bloom I’ve seen a lot of tennis balls. OK I know they are much more interesting and fun for you:)
May 10, 2012 at 10:26 pm
Tylers, there are lots of those cactus blooming now. They usually blend into the scenery and you don’t notice them. My person says she can’t believe how many there are. I’ll still stick with my tennis balls.
