Mornings are Hot

14 Jun

Bongo on the StreetMy person took me out on my trails in the morning again because she’s still hanging out at night with all those kids in the sky that I’m not allowed to hang out with.

I’m not sure I like mornings. It’s too hot. And I tried to give some pesky blue jays what for as they flew by, but the sun was on the wrong side of the sky and I had to look away.

We went on my usual trails and got back to my house and I was ready to go back inside where it was nice and cool.

But my person had other ideas. Sometimes I think she is really crazy. She made me keep walking down the street with her. Come on person, I just want to go inside. Can’t you see I’m hot? Aren’t you hot?

My person took me down the street, and then we went on another street, and another.

And then she got her camera out. Oh no, not this again.

Double Century Plants

Hey person, do these two century plants only come out in the morning? Maybe they need extra heat to grow double.

I think I’ll go back to looking for the single century plants on my trails that come out later in the day. At least then I won’t collapse in the heat.

Can we go home now?

Hang on, Bongo, I think your person should take better care of you. Otherwise, you just come to Belgium!

Sweet Kitten, I’m getting on the plane to Belgium right now. Then I get to go to the sky and see you.

Take some water with you next time? In one of those special bottles?

      June 14, 2012 at 3:46 pm

Dianda, if I’d known my person was going to take me for an extra long walk, I would have made her bring me some water and my water dish.

Lonely Dogs, I like baths – especially with the garden hose. I’ll have to get after my person to turn it on.

Lonely Dogs, I love anything that has to do with water. Of course my person has trouble washing me because I’m having too much fun playing in the water.

Rumpy, last week it wasn’t hotter later in the day. My person is trying to tell me it is this week, but I’m not sure I believe her.

Jaz, Rosie is invited to my sky party. Do you think that will get her off your bed?

Puzzle, we seem to have lots of huge asparagus around here. I guess we just have to buy one and it will last all year. My person says that would be good since asparagus is usually expensive.

I don’t like to get all hot and icky either–but we do need our exercise.

Patricia, I think I’m going to see if I can get my person to turn on the garden hose. I can exercise by jumping in the water.

Sorry you had to walk in the heat sweet Bongo…hope you get some cooler weather soon. Hot here too so we are staying in most of the time. Chancy runs and plays out in the early morning. We have no century plants to look for here. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, my person says I might be stuck with this hot weather until September. I think it’s time to go swimming.

Oh,Bongo… why don’t you ask your person to take you out earlier [5-7: sunrise time]. That’s the best time to be out, really!

    • Bongo

      June 15, 2012 at 11:35 pm

Marina, first I would have to get my person out of bed that early. But this was her last night hanging out in the sky with those kids, so she says we’ll probably go back to our evening walks.

In summer, I go for a walk very early in the morning like 4:30am or my paws would be burned by asphalt!!! What is the hightest temperature in your place Bongo?

    • Bongo

      June 15, 2012 at 11:40 pm

Kevin, our temperatures this week are in the 90s. That’s Fahrenheit. I’m not sure what that is in Celsius. The hottest it usually gets here in the summer is about 105 Fahrenheit.

    Hey Bongo, Jet here.

What time is morning for you? For us, morning walk starts sometime between 6:15 and 6:30 when it’s only 83 with 100% humidity! Dude, since you sport some gorgeous black fur like me, I feel your sweat!

Hey Jet, I can’t seem to get my person going until around 8:30 or 9:00. My person is finally done with that sky thing though and she says we’ll probably go back to our evening walks.

O, Bongo, I can imagine it’s too hot for you, but I love that temperature (I googled: 90s is almost 33°C), I wish we had a little higer temperature over here. It’s still cold and wet 😦
The world is so much different by walking in the morning, isn’t it Bongo? At least you saw two Century plants next to each other, otherwise you may have never seen it 😀

Angels Whisper, I was all ready for another walk this morning and my person wouldn’t go. She says we’re back to our evening walks. I guess I can’t complain about staying in the cool house. I hope you get some sunny weather soon.

Hey Bongo – maybe those century plants could get a job as a waiter in a pizza place – they look like they could carry a lot of pizzas at once?
(The German wants to walk wants to walk wants to walk…until she sticks her head outside in the 90 degree+ humidity heat…we are heading out early and late – as she need to watch her waist line…but she always wants to turn around.)

    • Bongo

      June 16, 2012 at 12:06 pm

Karen, that would be great if those century plants would deliver pizza to my door.

Tell the German she should just run around the house for awhile. Our temperatures are about the same as yours, but we don’t have the humidity so it probably doesn’t feel nearly as hot here.
