There is something really strange hanging from that tree over there. I’ve never seen a piece of fruit with a shape like that.
I’m concerned. I’ve been finding litter on my trails lately. My person and I have been taking the litter and throwing it away. Now it looks like someone is hanging the litter from trees.
This is getting to be a serious litter war. These litterers are not only trying to see who can leave the most litter, but they are trying to see who’s litter will last the longest. They’re putting it in places where it’s not easy to pick up and throw away.
I don’t think I can even reach that tree litter. I’ll have to jump pretty high. I might even have to get my person to help me with it.
I’d better check this out a little closer. Maybe that will give me a clue as to who left it here. If I find the guilty litterer I’m going to give him what for for sure.
Hey, wait a minute! This is really strange.
You know what this is? It’s a bunch of seeds.
Why would anyone want to hang seeds from a tree? If someone wants to plant seeds they should put them in the ground.
If they leave those seeds here the birds will get them before they can sprout.

Wow Bongo! You do come across some really weird things! I have absolutely no idea what this is but I’m sure you’ll find it!!!

Marina, my person says it’s a bunch of seeds to feed the birds. I don’t know why they didn’t put out dog treats for me instead.

Bongo my darling you really are most astute…and I do so admire your dedication to a clean unlittered countryside. I began to wonder what it was hanging from the tree…was it bird food?

Patreciau, my person says it is bird food. I’m still waiting for someone to hang the dog treats.

Hey Bongo, I think the whole point is for the birds to eat the seed before they sprout. Now, I know you are very park conscious and would, therefore, prefer they grew into bushes or trees but sometimes we have to think of our smaller, two legged brothers and sisters.

Susan, how come the birds get treats and I don’t. If I find the person who put those seeds there I’m going to ask them to hang some dog treats – in my reach, of course.

What a very cool idea. I think I’ll have to start putting doggie treats in the park where Litchi and her friends walk. What fun

I’m coming to Litchi’s park.

You are smart and logical, Bongo. Seeds, soil, birds – you totally get it. Your brain is big and works well.
Love and licks,

We hate litter too. Luckily, it looks like this “litter” actually helps our little birdy friends 🙂

Adventureweiner, I hope this litter does some good and doesn’t make a big mess. My person wouldn’t let me throw it away. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

It will be fun to see all the birds when you are out and about on your trails. You can tell Scratchy about them. He will be so jealous.

Patricia, Scratchy is stuck watching the birds through the window. There are usually lots of them on my trails, but they won’t let me get close to them.

Rumpy, it was really a surprise to see it on my trails rather than in someone’s yard. It is pretty cool.

Misty Shores, I sure hope I find some dog treats in the trees. I hope they don’t hang them too high though.

Sweet Bongo would you believe Mumsy has hung seeds in trees like that she even hangs them on the front porch can you believe that? Is Mumsy a litter bug or do you think she means for the birds to eat those seeds. Hugs and nose kisses Chancy
Bongo
July 9, 2012 at 10:19 pm
Chancy, I guess if Mumsy hangs seeds on her own front porch it’s okay. I bet those birds become litterbugs when they get into the seeds though.
Chancy and Mumsy
July 10, 2012 at 10:03 am
They sure do but Popsy keeps on top of that litter. Mumsy uses the seed hulls to help hold moisture around some of the plants.

Chancy and Mumsy what a great idea – turning litter into something useful.

Bongo, I don’t think it’s a good idea to hang dog treats in the tree, not only because you have to climb in it to get it, but also because some big birds may eat it and you’ll be leaving with nothing 😦
Bongo
July 10, 2012 at 11:26 am
Angels Whisper, you’re right – there are some pesky big birds around here and they might get the treats before I ever get out on my trails.

Isn’t that nice that someone is feeding the birds on your trails. It’s a good job Scratchy doesn’t go on those trails though!

July 10, 2012 at 11:28 am
Bassetmomma, Scratchy would be giving those birds what for for sure. My person makes him stay inside so he can only watch the birds through the window.

Kevin, it sure makes it hard for dogs to get hold of it. But I guess those birds have no problem.

I think that litterer is a very nice one Bongo, leaving food for the birds. Our Mom feeds the birds too, she enjoys seeing all the different types as them come to eat.

Lexie and Mica, I guess the birds must enjoy having all that food in one place. I know I’d sure like to find a bunch of dog treats all in one place like that.
