My younger person is gone now – moved out of the house so he can go to college. So there are going to be some changes around here.
I was never allowed into my younger person’s room. Something about he didn’t want dog hair all over his room. I’m not sure why. I’ve got dog hair all over me and I’m not having a problem with it.
So today my person and my younger person were talking to each other on the phone. My person had gone into my younger person’s room to look for something, and she left the door open. So I thought I’d check it out. After all, he doesn’t need that room anymore. I don’t have my own room. Maybe I can turn this into my room.
Hey, this is really cool. My younger person left some really good stuff in here. I’m taking over this room for sure.
Oops. Here comes my person. Hey person, look what I found. Can this be my room now?
What? Wait a minute. Why are you dragging me out by my collar? This room doesn’t belong to anybody anymore. I figured it was fair game.
Why are you throwing all that good stuff away? People just don’t understand.

Look at all the trouble humans have because they’re not covered in dog hair. You’d think they’d would be grateful if you give them some.
Humans, really!
Bongo
August 13, 2012 at 12:31 pm
Delft, my younger person could gather my hair up and cover himself with it and he’d never get sunburned again. Sometimes humans just aren’t very smart.

Bongo, next time grab a couple of items and trot out of the room as if you are pretending to help with the clean-up?

August 13, 2012 at 12:32 pm
Great idea Karen. If my person tries to stop I’ll head to the big garbage can as if I was planning to throw that good stuff away. Then I can sneak it out again later.

Awww, we sure do understand! Our younger person doesn’t want us in her room either. Our girl got mad because Kori liked to “play” with her doll house. And She didn’t like Ryder laying on her bed…
But our girl is living at home while she goes to college, so we can’t take over her room. (But we think she should share…we would happily let her lay on our dog beds or play with our dog toys after all!)

Kat N Collies, sometimes I don’t think our younger people know how to share. I hope they teach sharing in college. My younger person lived at home and went to college last year, but this year he decided to go to a college farther away.

Looks like you hit the jackpot, B. Garbage pails are the BEST. I’m too tiny to reach ours, but one of these days I’ll figure out a plan to get in there. Then I’ll do some damage.
Love and licks,

Cupcake, talk your mom into getting a little one like my younger person has in his room. I can reach right into it, but I bet you would be able to knock it over and get into it.

Well, I don’t understand it Bongo. I definitely think it should be your room, especially as young men leave such fantastic dog stuff around the place.

Susan, I totally agree. I can’t figure out why my younger person would still need a room here when he has one somewhere else.

I think you should just move in there and stake your claim – after all possession is 9/10 of the law 😉
Bongo
August 13, 2012 at 1:14 pm
Misaki, my person shut the door. Maybe if I’m really nice to Scratchy he’d help me open it. Oh wait, that wouldn’t work. Then I’d have to share the room with him.

I think you need to camp out until the door opens again and then swoop in!

Great idea Misaki. I kind of camp out outside that door anyway. It’s my favorite hallway.

There’s nothing wrong with a little dog fur. I’m surprised I don’t cough up hairballs with the amount of fur I eat.
Younger person was hoarding lots of goodies in his room. I think you should stake your claim!

August 13, 2012 at 9:27 pm
Colby, I think I’m going to break that door down right now and claim the room as mine.

Did you think to tell your person that you would share the room with your little person when he comes back if they give you the room? Looks like you found lots of good stuffs in that room sweet Bongo. Hugs and nose kisses

August 13, 2012 at 9:30 pm
Chancy and Mumsy, my younger person would just kick me out when he comes to visit – and then probably not speak to me because I left some of my fur in his room.

Kevin, that’s the best idea yet. I’ve got to protect that room. After all, if I don’t move into it Scratchy might take it over.

August 14, 2012 at 8:39 am
Marina, I’m not sure why my person doesn’t appreciate my methods of cleaning. You’re right though, that room will be a total waste of space if I don’t use it.

It should be nominated as your new toy room Bongo. I have my own toy room – the little person thinks it is his but we all know who it really belongs to 🙂

Bongo when they go to college they get to keep their room. They come home for visits and Christmas and summer and they need their room to stay in. It’s his room until he finishes college and leaves home for good 😦

Bongo, your college person just left. Give it time. Maybe in a year, you’ll be able to go in, but not now. Your person will be back before you know it! In the meantime, start thinking about making a Welcome Home sign for when he returns for the holidays. 🙂
Bongo
August 16, 2012 at 10:40 pm
Monica, he already came home and I didn’t have time to make him a sign – but I did greet him at the door. My person says his classes don’t start until this week and I probably won’t see him much for awhile after they start – except maybe some weekends.
