Shopping Without Me

15 Oct

Bongo on the TrailShe did it again. For the second day in a row my person left me – for a long time. Yesterday she hung out with her sister and didn’t take me along. Today she mumbled something about going shopping with my younger person.

I want to go. I like shopping. You are shopping for dog food, aren’t you? I haven’t seen my younger person in a long time.

I couldn’t convince my person to take me so there we were again. Just Scratchy and me. Scratchy’s no fun so I decided to take a nap.

I must have slept for a long time when all of a sudden I heard a key turning in the door lock. Funny, I hadn’t heard my person’s car pulling up. I always wake up for that.

Guess what!? It was my neighbor – and he took me for a walk on my trails. My neighbor is the coolest.

I was a little afraid my person would come home and wouldn’t know where I was – but when we got back – still no person.

Finally she showed up. It was late and dark. And then, you know what?

My younger person showed up in a different car. I hadn’t seen this car before. But I think it was really happy to have my younger person driving it.

This new car smiles.

Misaki, that must have been it. I bet that car put on a big smile as soon as it saw me.

That is the happiest car I ever saw. You were very brave waiting so long for your people to come home. That is always scary for me.

Cupcake, it makes it easier to wait when your neighbors surprise you and take you for walks.

Nichole, I’m not sure how they left me behind. I could have helped test drive that car. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

What a fun shopping trip, finding a car that smiles. My brothers car just roars.

Missy, my younger person has a car that roars too – but it doesn’t always start when he wants it to, so he needed a car he could depend on.

Mollie and Alfie, I’d like to go sample all the treats before picking them out – but I never get to do that.

Why does she keep leaving you Bongo! Oh, well at least you got a visit in with the neighbor and you finally got to see your younger person and his nice smiley car!

Bassetmomma, my person keeps making excuses for leaving me – but I don’t buy it.

Aw dog. I’d be nervous if I saw a car smiling. Cars aren’t supposed to smile, dude.

FleaByte, I sure hope this car is a happy car and not a car that’s up to no good.

I think that car is smiling at you Bongo!
Good thing you sleep it through. Your friend here howls her head off [in various colors and polyphonies AND non-stop until we come back!] terrorizing the neighbors! Hence, where we go, she goes too! You are such a well behaved dog. I bet you’ll get another antler!

    • Bongo

      October 16, 2012 at 9:18 am

Marina, is that how you do it – you start howling? Maybe if I did that I could go along with my people. But I guess I don’t want to hang out in a hot car in the dogs not allowed places. I’ll wait for another antler instead.

yep, that’s a good decision you smart dog you!!!!

wxxxhat a lovely smiley car..it must be the happiest car I have seen.

it’s not much fun going shopping Bongo..people everywhere and they tread on your toes. You were safest at home with Scratchy x

Patreciau, my person says I would have had to stay in a hot car (and not the smiley one) and I wouldn’t have liked it. Guess I’ll stay home and chew on my antler.

I’m glad that you could see your younger person, Bongo! I knew you’ve been missed him so much! Wow, that Mazda car is surly smiling! She must be so happy to bring your younger person to you, Bongo! 🙂

Kevin, that car must have really been happy because my younger person was very happy driving it. Of course I think they were both happiest to see me – although I pretended to not be excited when my younger person came home. I have to get him back somehow for being gone for so long.

OMD, that car is really smilling !! I’m sure she would be more that happy to take you for a fun ride !
Shopping can be fun if the humans stop to a café and share some sweet with you. Or treats shopping… or toy shopping !!

    Woos of love.

Echo & Link, I want to go shopping where I can sample all the treats and test out all the toys. Then when I’m all worn out from that – something sweet at a cafe sure sounds good too. Maybe you can come too.

Can you ride a car, Bongo? 😉

      • Bongo

        October 17, 2012 at 8:59 am

Dianda, my younger person says he doesn’t want me in his new car because he thinks he might get dog hair in it. I’m not sure what his problem is. He has hair too. Just not as much as me.

How typical of the peoples leaving you behind while they want shopping. Don’t they know dogs are better at picking out cars? That car may have a cute smile, but where will your young peoples put your crate? They ARE going to take you for a ride in their new wheels, aren’t they?

    • Bongo

      October 17, 2012 at 9:07 am

Toby, I don’t think I get to go in that smiley car – and I think it might stop smiling if it doesn’t get to take me. Anyway, my younger person took that car back with him to that college place.

Bongo, sounds like it’s time for a family meeting about communication of plans (don’t forget to take detailed notes). But you know what? Is that a Miata or an RX8? Because I’ve got the same car almost in red & it’s got a great sunroof I can stick my head out so people will come over & tell me how cute I am when Diane goes into stores.

    • Bongo

      October 19, 2012 at 8:24 pm

Lola, it’s a Mazda3. It doesn’t have a sunroof though. That would be so fun sticking your head out. I bet I could even climb out and put some scratches in the roof while I was at it.

I put my scratches on the side of the door…it’s hard waiting to have doors opened for you.
