Trail Lights

03 Nov

Manzanita with light shining through loose barkThat’s really weird. Someone took some orange Halloween lights and put them on this manzanita bush, way out here on my trails. They didn’t even pick a bush next to the trail. They had to climb way under this tree to get them on there. If I wasn’t so close to the ground I would have walked right by and never noticed them.

Why would somebody do that?

And look at this bush. They didn’t even put the lights on the side you could see the best. Maybe they’re not decorating for us people and dogs that walk by on my trails. Do you think they did this for the squirrels and the bunnies? Or maybe those invisible creatures that were hanging around here on Halloween? I hope they’re not still around.

Wow! Look at this one. It’s really lit up. I think I’m safe now. All those bright lights probably scared those creatures away.

Check this one out. It’s right on the trail, but the lights seem to be fading. I hope it already scared all the creatures away because I think it’s running out of electricity.

Wow! What are those orange lights Bongo? Are you sure they are Halloween Lights and not …alien lights?! Huh, inspector Bongo?!

Marina, now you’ve got me concerned. I’d better put on my Detective Dog hat and start investigating to see if the aliens have landed.

Yikes Karen! Marina says it might be aliens and you say ghosts. I’m really worried now. I’d better get to the bottom of this before aliens or ghosts take over my trails.

It’s actually the sun shining through loose bark. The sun hit those bushes at just the right angle. Nowhere else on my trails were the bushes lit up like that.

Bongo, at least nature sent some flash lights 😉

Angels Whisper, nature sends sunlight and moonlight – but those orange flashlights were something special.

Well, detective Bongo, I think you’ve really got your work cut out for you this time. It’d make sense if they were right on the trail but, hidden away like that – you’d definitely best investigate.

Susan, I think they might have been there to lure my person in under a tree that I like to go under. She usually won’t go under it with me – something about the branches being too low for her. If that’s what they were there for it worked.

Thanks Dianda. My person had to crawl under some low branches to take them. Then when she was trying to get back out I crawled on top of her.

Thanks Kevin. I wish my person would take pictures like that more often because she had to crawl under a bunch of low branches with me – so I tried to wrestle with her when she was trying to crawl back out.

We could’ve used those trail lights around here, last week, B! It’s been dark and cold and DARK because of the hurricane.

Cupcake, so glad you’re back from the blackout. That must have been no fun – but I’m glad you and your mom are okay.

Dalton, there are manzanita bushes all over my trails, but just this one little spot had some that looked like they were lit up.

Fungus? Maybe they are like outter space creatures footprints 😮
Anyway, the color orange is rally cheerful to see on the trails 🙂 ♥

YouKai, it was pretty cheerful. It was actually loose bark with the sun shining through it at just the right angle.

Thanks Collies. It was a special treat to see that so I made my person climb all the way under some low tree branches to take pictures.
