Spraying Stuff On

05 Feb

Bongo with spray bottles in the backgroundSometimes I just can’t figure out people at all. Like today.

You know what my person did? She spent all afternoon spraying stuff on and wiping it back off again. Why would anyone do that? It doesn’t make sense to spray stuff on something if all you’re going to do is wipe it back off.

But that’s not the worst of it. All this time that my person was spraying stuff she could have been taking me for a walk. But she didn’t.

Then when she finally decided we could go she picked the time that it started to rain. It hadn’t been raining all day, but as soon as we walked out the door the raindrops began.

.

.

Bongo on the trail holding back

I tried to tell my person I didn’t want to walk in the rain, but she wouldn’t listen to me. Every time I tried to go back she tugged on my leash and I was forced to go on. I really need to get my person trained better. I’m supposed to be taking her for a walk – not the other way around.

Bongo looking off to the side

Since my person wasn’t going for the direct approach I figured I’d try something a little more subtle. I hinted that we could go another direction. If that worked I figured I could keep circling until we were headed back home. She wouldn’t go for it.

But you know what the worst part was? When we finally got back home it stopped raining. I know my person did this to me on purpose. How else do you explain the fact that the only time it rained all day was when we were outside in it, and she was the one that picked the time?

I think she and the person with the spray bottles in the sky were having a concert.

It’s not just you. Eko is also a firm believer that I control the rain and he often gives me the, “Hey, would you mind turning the water falling from the sky to the off setting?”

Eko, you mean Will does that to you too? I don’t know why our people do such things to us sometimes?

Oh, maybe that explains the spotless kitchen I see you in!!! It looks squeaky clean!
At least there were no thunders.
My dear Bongo, you have to be patient with humans… she will learn eventually…

Marina, that squeaky clean look doesn’t happen around here very often. My person would rather be on the computer instead but I guess I can’t complain. She gets off it to take me for walks. And yeah, at least she didn’t make me go out in thunder this time. It just feels weird when I feel little things hitting my back.

That stubborn face and neck yanking doesn’t always work for me either, B. Mom says, “Quit acting like a donkey,” and then she pulls me to wherever she wants to go. Parents. Ugh! They’re so headstrong.

Cupcake, every once in awhile I can convince my person with those tactics, but not very often. She’s telling me that she feels sorry for me when it thunders. She shouldn’t even think about making me go outside in the thunder.

Oh, Bongo, you poor pup. I agree that walking in the rain is no fun at all!

Remy, sometimes I feel like a second class citizen – being dragged out in the rain when there’s not another dog out there. But there’s no rain now. Why aren’t we on a walk? I’d better get on my person.

Misaki, I never can figure people out. Sometimes they give you treats and sometimes they do something that just seems rude.

My dogs love the rain and water almost as much as my ducks do. It’s the chickens who hate the rain. You and the hens should hang out together, Bongo.

FleaByte, I bet your chickens are fun to hang out with. I love water as long as it’s not coming down on me in little drops.

Bassa, I’m always afraid that thunder is going to come with the rain. They seem to hang out together a lot of the time.

Bongo, the spray must have done something with your person, that’s why she reacted that way 🙂

Angels Whisper, maybe I should take all that spray stuff away from her.

Oh no…I don’t like walking in the rain, either….poor Bongo! Hmmm….your person must be good at cleaning! My mom is lazy,so our kitchen is very messy…*blush*

Kevin, my person is usually lazy too. She was planning to have so people come over to our house. That’s the only reason she cleaned.

Lexie and Mica, sometimes I think our people have special powers, but they pretend that they don’t. Tonight we got thunder, but then my person came home and made it go away.

That spray stuff can be a little misleading Bongo. I’ll have to tell you about when I first brought Spirit home. I had company coming & was doing that exact same thing with the spraying, starting in one corner and working my way around the room. Spirit watched me with his head cocked & as I was on the 3rd corner, he lifted his leg & sprayed the table in the 4th corner for me. Now how helpful was that big dude? Bongo…do not do that okay – promise? Diane

Diane, my person laughed out loud when she got to the part about Spirit lifting his leg. I promise I won’t do that – as long as I get my walk.

Oh Bongo, you are right that your person isn’t very smart. Instead of making a nice little cleaning shower in the kitchen, she makes a big shower outdoors and tries to make some local rain with a spray indoors. Complete nonsense!

Kolytyi, if I ever figure my person out I think I’ll get rich. She does do the strangest things sometimes.
