Scratchy or the Snake

02 Mar

Bongo and ScratchyThis is kind of a sad story for an adventure, but a dog’s got to do what a dog’s got to do.

You see, my person still didn’t take me for a walk today. But it was a really nice day so she thought maybe we could go sit out in the yard for awhile.

That worked pretty good. It felt really great to lie and soak up the sun.

But then my person thought maybe Scratchy would like to come out too.

I don’t know what she was thinking. She was breaking her own rules. Scratchy’s not allowed outside.

But my person said Scratchy doesn’t run off anymore so she knew he would stay in the yard.

So she brought him out and sat him on her lap. If you’re wondering what that black blob is in front of my handsome face, you guessed it. It’s Scratchy.

Scratchy being on my person’s lap meant he was getting more attention than me so I decided to give Scratchy some attention. I went over and kissed him – right on his face – a bunch of times.

Scratchy eventually took a dive off my person’s lap and then I went after him some more and he ran back in the house.

Now I could have all the attention again, but that meant I no longer had Scratchy to harass.

So you know what I did? I went in and brought out my snake. My snake’s good for a harassment or two.

But my person spoiled all the fun. She made me take my snake back inside.

It’s no fun harassing a snake in the house.

That is SO unfair! And you got rid of the cat and everything!

Rumpy, you’d think my person would have so appreciated having her lap free again that she wouldn’t mind much when I harassed my snake.

Ah, Bongo, I bet that looking at you both on her lap was sheer bliss for your person!
About the snake… you know, humans have this thing about cleaning… and that snake looks kind of “dusty”!!! I hope your person gets better soon!
    🙂

Marina, I rolled in the dust while I was outside and my person wouldn’t let me go back in until she dusted me off. What is it with people and dust?

Well Bongo, I just don’t know what to say. There’s no trusting humans, that’s for sure

Susan, you’d think my person would be so happy that she didn’t have to keep an eye on Scratchy for very long.

Ehmmm, Bongo, with “but that meant I no longer had Scratchy to harass” did you mean “to cuddle and pamper”, didn’t you?

Kolytyi, you’re right of course. I’d better go change that in my post.

Flo, Scratchy started to put up his claws, but then he took a nose dive away from me instead.

I guess it’s good that Scratchy went inside and didn’t jump the fence and take off! Mom has that same rule of no toys outside. Sometimes, I get my leash on and grab a toy, ready to hit the road. No such luck. She always says, “No toys.” and “Leave it.” Then the toy falls out of my mouth and I have to wait till we come home to play with it.

Love and licks and I love toys,

Cupcake, my person does the same thing to me. She won’t even open the door until I drop my toy.

Benny & Lily, that’s what I was thinking. Things would have been way better though if Scratchy had never come outside in the first place.

That’s not a toy, Bongo, that’s a snake, didn’t your person saw that?

Angels Whisper, I don’t think my person knows what it is or she’d never let it in the house.

Wow! I was really wondering what the first picture was until you told us it was you and Scratchy in the picture! Oh no….Scratchy doesn’t like to get kisses from you? Probably he was too shy to get all those your kisses in front of your person! 🙂

Kevin, Scratchy always leaves when I kiss him. You’d think he’d really like my slobbery kisses. I don’t know what he’s thinking.

Misaki, I agree. I could have so much more fun sometimes – especially if my person will replace my toys after she lets me wreck them.

I’m sorry you’re still missing your walks, Bongo 😦 It sounds to nice to just relax outside for a while though; even if all the fun stuff ended up back inside the house 😉

Remy, at least we had some nice days to go outside. Tomorrow I think I’m going to attach my person to my leash whether she likes it or not though.

You know Bongo, the snake is sort of like a rope…. so why not harass two for the price of one? Throw the snake on scratchy and watch them go at it…. muwahahaha

Ginger, I would do that but the snake is just a limp noodle when it comes to things like that.

Well, Scratchy went inside BUT your snake had to go in too??? The cats around here mess up my plans a lot too if I don’t keep them on their best behavior. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy, it’s really hard keeping the cats under our paws sometimes, isn’t it? Hugs and nose kisses back to you.
