Changing the Time

17 Jul

Bongo behind a bunch of bushesMy person finally figured it out. If we go on our trail walk in the morning there’s no thunder.

And it’s quiet – and peaceful.

This morning there was no wind to blow the smells away. I had a great time exploring and finding new smells.

Of course my person – like usual – kept dragging me away from all the good smells.

And then my person – like usual – wouldn’t go on a longer walk.

The same old routine.

Well, I guess it wasn’t really. We went at a different time of day.

Usually this time of year we go in the evening – when the sun is getting low.

But the thunder has been rumbling then too.

Hey person, I don’t need this thunder thing on anymore.

I’m brave now. See, there’s nothing here to scare me.

You need to get up early every morning for our walks.

That way you can get your exercise.

Wait! What do you mean, you want your exercise now?

I’ll just be a few more minutes here.

Bongo sniffing behind bushes

What do you think walks are for anyway?

Marina, she’s a slow learner but I think she’s finally starting to get it. At least we’re going out in the morning now – before the thunder shows up.

Rumpy, you’ve got it figured out. I don’t know what my person is thinking.

our old dog Guido has to stop and sniff every blade of grass.Benji find s nice smells and rolls in it sometimes it smells real bad but she thinks its the doggy version of Chanel No.5….Rosie wandwers off on her own to have a sniff and will not come back when called. Charlie has to stay on his leash cos he is a devil and runs off.
Good to hear that you want to remove your thunder jacket..I always knew you was a big brave dog

Patrecia, I had to put that thunder jacket on again later. We had big thunder here. And my person says I’m just like Charlie. That’s why she always makes me stay on my leash. But it’s so fun running off sometimes.

I like early morning walk, too because like you said, it’s quiet and peaceful! In the winter, it’s a little hard as it’s still dark outside, but in the Summer, the air smells very nice and fresh, so it’s good preparation to start the day! I’m glad you now get away from Thunder, Bongo! 🙂

Kevin, that thunder came back with a vengeance – but at least I was safe inside by then. We had lots of rain too, which we really need around here.

Bongo, most confusing that walks get rescheduled – I don’t mind a few raindrops, why do people? It’s thundering now, so I guess that means nap time instead of watching birds in the yard.

Molly, my person is trying to convince me that she rescheduled our walks for me. I guess when there’s thunder I won’t go on the trails, so maybe she’s right. There’s hardly ever any thunder in the morning around here. Then I can nap the rest of the day.

What? Doesn’t your person know anymore that walks are made for….. walking and hanging out on special places 🙂

Little Binky, my person is always dragging me along when we’re on walks. I keep trying to train her better, but she’s a really slow learner.
