My person got a new camera.
And now she leaves me home alone once a week.
She says she has to learn how to use her new camera – so she’s taking a class.
Please don’t tell her that I go on walks with my neighbor dog Toby while she’s gone.
But that’s not really what my complaint is.
Now that my person is taking a class she says she has to do her homework.
I always thought homework was called that because you do it at home.
I think my person’s confused because she thinks she has to do her homework out on my trails.
And she doesn’t take me.
Person, I promise I won’t mess up your pictures.
I might yank on my leash a little, but the thing you’re taking a picture of is still there.
Just try again.
Oh, come on. It’s been a very long time since I’ve pulled you over because I wanted to get at a coyote.
I won’t wreck your camera.
But no – I can’t convince my person.
So now she takes two walks on my trails.
One with me.
And one to do her homework.
But here’s what’s really bad.
While my person was out on one of her homework walks…
she saw my girlfriend Layla.
And she left me at home.

Poor Bongo!! your person will soon be able to use the camera and invite you again, I’m sure!

Sue Ann, my person says I can come when someone else comes too so they can hold my leash. I don’t know why I always need to walk someone on a leash.

Oh Bongo, say it ain’t so!!! I’m sure you would be a big help with that new camera. Get her to take you along to provide pointers next time. 😉

Geraldine and Mr. Ched, that’s a great idea. After all, I’m part Pointer so I should be able to give my person lots of pointers. I can point things out too.

Oh dear, you should insist that she take you! Maybe steal the house key! Wooooowooooo!

Ku, that’s an idea. That way she has to take me along if she wants to get back in the house.

GAH! This whole walking-without-you thing is absolutely scandalous. Once, Mom took the garbage to the dumpster and left me home! She knows how much I enjoy checking the ground around the dumpster for rancid food, deadly chicken bones, and poison!! Ugh!
Love and licks,

Cupcake, that’s terrible. How could your mom go to the dumpster without you? The things our people do to us.

Nacho, Buddy, & Basil, maybe if I distract her while she’s leaving the house she’ll forget to close the door and I can follow her. Once she forgot to close the door and I got to go on a walk by myself.

Bongo, I am reading but not believing!!!!
She did take beautiful pictures BUT I’m sure they would be even better with the presence of a paw!!!! 🙂

Marina, that’s what I say. She needs to put me in those pictures. I’m sure her instructor would like them better with me in them.

Oh no! Poor Bongo. As an amateur photographer myself, I love taking pictures of my dogs (amongst other things) – but feel it would be better served if I had someone to handle the dogs and then I can just take the pictures. Maybe you could suggest someone else to go along and hold your leash? Then you would be sure not to miss another opportunity to see Layla and maybe your mom could get a few shots of the two of you together so that you can look at them whenever you want to.

My person says that sometimes we’ll go with someone else who can hold my leash – but that won’t work every time. At least I still get my regular walk and she takes her little camera when I go.

Oh, no!! Now that is just not fair sweet Bongo. You know your trails very well and you could help your person with her homework. Keep trying maybe you can sway her on over to your way of thinking. Those are some beautiful pictures and we hope she gets a good grade on her homework. Hugs and nose kisses

Thanks Chancy and Mumsy. I’ll keep working on my person. After all, the pictures would be much better with me in them.

It seems terribly unfair but maybe you will win in the long run. The pictures of you will be that much more handsome because of the homework your person is doing now.

Ruby, one of my person’s classmates saw a bear when he had his dogs with him and all he got were blurry bear pictures. I’m sure I could help my person get good bear pictures.

Wow! Your person is a very good student who does her homework seriously! I like the first picture which the cactus looks impressive! I enjoy looking at the pictures she took, so can’t wait for more pictures she will take with her new camera, but Bongo….I feel sorry for you who has to be patient for her new camera, too.

So unfair. Besides that new camera has a stabilizer gadget doesn’t it…
leash tugs are polite ones, I’m sure.

Karen, you’re so right. I’d be gentle with my leash tugs. It’s my person that’s always pulling it hard. She never wants to let me finish smelling all the good smells.
