Do you see that? Do you see it?
Right where I’m looking.
This is my wash here.
Normally it looks like this with no water in it.
You see where the grass is laying down?
Right there is a little trail that connects to the rest of my trails.
But the grass there is usually standing up tall.
That grass doesn’t normally lay down on the job.
And you know what that means?
It means that water came flowing down my wash and got so deep that it buried all that grass.
My wash turned into a regular swimming hole.
And I missed it.
I missed my chance to go swimming in my own wash.
By the time I got out here there was no water at all.
What, person? What are you trying to tell me?
What? When that water was here it was pouring down rain and thundering?
But that’s terrible!
How dare that rain and thunder be here at the same time as my swimming hole.
I bet that’s what chased my swimming hole away.
I mean, isn’t that kind of like raining on my parade?

Ku, that could be it. My puddle is back where the toadies used to live and I haven’t seen any toadies there since the puddle came back. I bet they took off with my swimming hole.

That’s it, isn’t it? The thunder drove the poor swimming hole away! 🙂

Marina, thunder is scary. I bet that swimming hole ran from it.

Sounds like you’re lucky you missed it. If the thunder goes swimming, it’s best for you to stay at home. I think thunder would splash a lot.
Love and licks,

Cupcake, you’re so right. It would not be fun trying to swim in the same swimming hole with thunder.

Maybe the swimming hole is just hiding? Those like to play hide and seek. Did you try barking “Olley. Ollie. Oxen free.”? (but be careful – some real silly oxen might think you were calling them!)

Karen, that would sure be an adventure – finding oxen on my trails. I’m not sure what happened though. My puddle showed up again and the swimming hole took off.

Benny & Lily, I would love a pool. My person says she can’t fit one in her car though and I’d probably wreck the blow up kind. I’ll keep working on her.

BZ, my person says that rain has something to do with swimming holes and puddles, but I haven’t figured out what yet.

Kevin, I sure hope my swimming hole comes back too – but no thunder. We had more tonight and I don’t like it one bit. I bet you don’t either.

We have thunder too this evening, Bongo and it scares me off too. Hope your swimming hole comes back soon…and don’t forget to take a picture of it, so we all can see you enjoying it. Pawkisses, Little Binky 🙂

Little Binky, that swimming hole doesn’t hang out here much – but if it comes back while I’m around I’ll have my person take a picture of me in it. Of course, she only takes her little camera when we go on walks together.

Ginger, I can’t figure out why God made thunder. It’s always up to no good.
