But it’s not my fault.
My person left me home alone – and there was thunder.
Well, it was quiet thunder – but it was thunder just the same.
And I needed to find a way to hide from it – or escape it.
None of the escape routes worked. I’m locked in the house.
I tried dragging things out so I could hide under them – but that didn’t work.
Then I tried my younger person’s room. The door was shut but I pushed it open.
Maybe I can hide in his closet.
And then it happened.
The door to my younger person’s room closed, with me still inside.
I don’t know how it happened. It must have a mind of its own.
I’m not supposed to be in here.
My younger person gets really upset if I come into his room. Something about hair or something.
What do I do now? I can’t get out.
Somebody’s going to find me.
Oh dear. I hear my person coming into the house now.
Maybe if I’m real quiet…
She’s calling for me. I can’t let her know I’m in here.
Maybe she’ll get busy cleaning up the mess I made and forget to look for me.
I’ll stay real quiet and maybe she’ll think I’m over at my neighbor dog Toby’s house.
Oops. The door’s opening.
She found me.
Person, I have no idea how I got in here.

You must have been really frightened to try to hide in your younger persons closet.
If Penny was there with you, you could have hidden together, that way you would be protecting each other from the big booms of thunder.

Penny, I sure wish we could hang out together – especially during the thunder.

How scary you got locked in a room all alone! I think I would have dug a hole in the door to escape! Wooooooowoooooooo!

September 8, 2013 at 4:20 pm
Ku, I started digging a hole in that door once (well, my younger person kind of did too) and they replaced it with a solid door so I can’t dig through it. The only thing is because the new door is so heavy it doesn’t latch real tight and I can push it open if I push hard enough. It’s just not supposed to close again until I leave.

If younger person doesn’t want you in his room he should make sure the door is shut tight. It’s his room and his responsibility to protect it. That’s what I think. Oh, doesn’t he have hair?

Patricia, I agree, but my person says it’s not my younger person’s fault. The door was shut but it won’t latch really tight and I can push it open. It’s just not supposed to close again until I leave.

What’s a dog supposed to do? Left alone with sneaky, quiet thunder trying to kill you…. It’s a wonder you didn’t chew through the walls. I think in an emergency, special permission should be given to do what you have to do. It’s not your fault.

Cupcake, I agree. I might have to try that chewing through the walls thing though. So far I’ve just tried it on doors.

Chancy and Mumsy, my person keeps telling me that thunder season is supposed to be over soon but I’m not sure I believe her. The thunder keeps on coming.

I hope your person was forgiving. My doggies chewed up the door frames on several of our doors one time when we were out. I don’t know what scared them, but we were very understanding.

Kari, I’ve done some good chewing and tearing during thunderstorms before. My person was happy that all I did was rearrange a few things this time. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

It was an accident somehow. No need to get mad at you. Hair… that’s what the vacuum monsters were made for.
Bongo
September 8, 2013 at 4:32 pm
Stanze, for some reason my younger person hardly ever takes that vacuum monster into his room and he told my person not to take it in there. I guess that’s why he doesn’t like hair in there. It piles up.

Ruckus, my person just let me out of the room and felt bad for me – but my younger person got mad at me when he got home and found out I’d rearranged some things. I was hoping he’d like it better the way I did it. Guess not. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Bongo, it wasn’t your fault. The thunder can do very strange things with you. Granny’s dog always ended up in the cupboard under the stairs and ruined everything, like her new sewingmachine f.e. Anyway, I hope your younger person had a little understanding for the situation.

Little Binky, my younger person wasn’t very happy with me. He didn’t like the way I rearranged things in his room. But after he got it put back the way it was he got over it.
