The Hose

16 Oct

Bongo examining an old fire hoseHmm. What’s going on here?

This is really strange.

This piece of hose has been hanging out in the parking lot of my trails for a long time.

It’s always been straight as an arrow and flat on the ground.

So what’s going on today? Why is this hose askew?

Did it finally give up?

The last holdout, and it doesn’t want to hold out any more?

Calling it quits?

Bongo standing over an old fire hose

Look at this poor thing. All squiggly shaped now.

There used to be bunches of these hoses. They all hung out in straight lines and there was no question about it.

The cars knew where to park.

But one by one they slithered away and left this poor last hose to try to control the cars by itself.

And it couldn’t do it.

The cars park every which way now and this hose can’t do a thing about it.

But if this last hose leaves those cars will be parking out in the street.

There won’t be anything left to keep them in the parking lot.

That could be chaos. People coming back after a nice, long hike – and where’s their car?

Panicked people will be running down my street wondering where their cars wandered off to.

I think I’d better do some investigating.

Bongo looking away from the bent up fire hose

Maybe I can find where those missing hoses went off to – what hole they crawled into.

I’ll bring them back to help this last hose out, so it will stay.

Somehow I’ve got to convince this hose to stay because if I don’t, and those cars start wandering off, I don’t want any of them parking at my front door.

Oh my! That is a dilemma my friend. Did the other hoses get mad and run away? Are they have a hose quarrel? So many options that could have happened. I know Sherlock Bongo – you will find out the mystery. Please let me know. I’m looking out the front door at my hose now… what if it runs away? XOXO – Bacon

Bacon, the hoses in my yard never leave. I think they’re a different breed of hose. I’m not sure what happened to those ones in the parking lot though. They just disappeared one by one over the years and now this last one looks like it wants to leave too.

You have to find the other ones! Poor hose must be feeling very lonely. Quick, Bongo, this is obviously a case for super-investigator dog. Bring out cape and hat! 🙂

It’s very sad to see a squashed snake Bongo, especially one that large.

Yes, Bassa. This is the biggest snake I’ve ever seen, and I don’t think it’s very happy about being so flat.

That last hose is very brave and patient!!! He/she tries to do his/her job on his/her own….poor hose…
Bongo, you can help him/her to find the other hoses for working together! Good luck! 🙂

Kevin, when I went back that poor hose was all straightened out – so I guess I’d better help it find all the other hoses.

I got an idea Bongo buddy…put on a different hat that says ‘parking attendant’ and you show people where to park. Don’t forget to hook a tip cup on your collar.

Great idea Diane and Lola. I’d make sure to get lots of treats that way.

Ginger, I think that hose was afraid I’d do that because the next time I went out there it had straightened itself out.
