Somebody’s decorating the cactus on my trails.
And it isn’t even Christmas.
Oh, I know.
It’s almost Easter and this is kind of an Eastery color.
It must be an Easter decoration.
I saw a bunny today. Maybe it was the Easter Bunny coming to decorate.
But wait.
Is this really an Easter decoration?
This looks like it might be a balloon.
A balloon that had the bad luck of landing on these pricklers and popping.
Maybe I should investigate this and find out what’s really going on.
Hey person, can you go get my Detective Dog hat for me?
I’ve got an important investigation and I don’t have time to get it myself.
What do you mean, I don’t need my Detective Dog hat?
What clue?
You’ve got a clue for me?
What kind of a clue is that?
If you won’t get my Detective Dog hat for me I guess I’m going to have to get it myself.
I’ve got some serious investigating to do.
And I don’t think I’m going to ask my person to help.

It looks like the cactus was chewing gum, blew a bubble, and it popped on its face…

Patrecia, I guess I’ll have to search high and low for my Detective Dog hat. I think my person lost it.

Oh I sure hope it is a balloon and not the other thing humans use when the door is close Woof, Woof

Fredrieka, it must not be that other thing because they don’t pop.

That balloon did some bad decision-making. I am afraid of balloons, so I’m glad it didn’t head this way….
Love and licks,

Cupcake, I think balloons that are already popped are harmless so you’re safe hanging out on my trails.

What kind of cactus chews gum, I wonder… Such mysteries you stumble upon each day, Bongo! Maybe that hat should never leave your head! 🙂

Marina, I am thinking that whenever my person gets my leash I should get my hat.

Silly cacti! Is cinco de mayo so close already?
(those can’t be doggie treats for a special day can they?)

Karen, they didn’t smell like doggie treats, but maybe that cactus is getting ready for Cinco de Mayo. Maybe I’ll find a new decoration every day until then.

Could it be that isn’t a cactus but an animal in disguise? Whee mean, what sort of plants have mouths to chew gum?

Oh no…poor cactus….I’m sure he/she didn’t want to have that balloon around his/ her body.
You must find out what happened, Mr Detective Dog! 🙂

Kevin, I think the trail clean-up crew took care of it because that balloon thing is not there anymore. The only problem is that I’ll never be able to finish my investigation now.

You better install trail security cameras

I agree that taking your detective hat with the leash is a very good idea. You seem to find all sorts of mysteries out on your trails!

FireBonnet, I think it should be required gear whenever I leave the house. And if it’s windy I’ll make my person carry it.
