I’m not sure who was up to the most mischief today.
My person, or the visitor.
You see, my person saw a visitor in our driveway today and you know what she did?
She came in, got her camera, and locked me in jail!
You hear that?
She locked me in dog jail.
I wanted to visit the visitor, and she locked me in dog jail.
.
And then she went out to take pictures.
And what was that visitor doing in my yard?
And what was it doing hanging around waiting for my person to get her camera?
We’ve seen a couple snakes on my trails lately.
And my person used some excuse about them hiding before she could get her camera out, and she wouldn’t take any pictures.
But this snake – in my yard – hangs around waiting until my person gets back outside with her camera.
Without me.
I think my person and that snake had this all planned out.
Just wait till I get my paws on my person’s camera.
We’ll see who visits my yard then.

Lily & Edward, it was just a little snake. The frightening part is that my person and this snake seem to be conspiring against me.

Sandra, it’s called a sand snake. They’re little snakes. This is the biggest one my person has ever seen. And it’s harmless.

If I lived in your house I would be in your locked cage too. I don, t like snakes one little bit. Beady eyes and a darty tongue and fabgs at the front..no way….I would be in your locked cage pretty sharp

Patrecia, we have lots of snakes here, but mostly you don’t see them. They should be called chickens instead of snakes because they’re always hiding. We only have two kinds of poisonous snakes here and I’ve never seen either of them on my trails.

Marina, if I was out there I would have chased that visitor away. For some reason they’re scared of me. Actually they’re scared of my person too. When she went back out there with her camera it started crawling away. Or maybe it’s camera shy.

Kevin, not all the snakes around here are colorful. And not all of them are venomous. This little one is called a sand snake and it’s harmless.

Ginger, it’s not a poisonous snake. But those snakes are always sneaking off into holes. Maybe I could dig a few holes and uproot that snake.
