White Fluffy Clouds

08 Jul

Thunder cloud build upCheck out these white fluffy clouds.

They look pretty, don’t they?

And how can such a pretty thing be anything but harmless?

Well, I’m here to tell you – looks can be deceiving.

Every year about this time, these clouds start showing up.

.

***

They even sneak up from behind the big rocks.

Thunder clouds forming behind a hill

And these clouds are up to no good.

They’re full of all kinds of mischief and devious things.

Things like thunder, and lightning.

And every one of them is out to get me.

It might not be so bad if they showed up every once in awhile.

But they hang around my trails and my house for almost three months every year.

I’ve got to figure out something.

There must be some way to get them to go away.

If anybody has any ideas please let me know.

Because I’ve just about had it with these soft looking, fluffy clouds that aren’t so soft and fluffy.

See, I told you.

Their true nature is finally coming out.

Dark and nasty looking.

That’s what they turn into when they give off their thunder.

Oh no! There’s more over there.

I’m outta’ here!

Could somebody come get me when it’s all over?

Patricia, I think I’m stuck with those mean old clouds for the rest of the summer.

    Only little weeny rumbles allowed

Patrecia, I don’t even like the little weeny rumbles. I start balking and not wanting to go any further and my person says she can’t even hear the rumbles. I think she needs to get her hearing checked.

Yap! I have those same kind of clouds over here! They are currently growling with thunder right outside my house!

Oz, we’ve got to do something to get rid of those clouds. I’ve heard of bug zappers. Maybe someone has invented cloud zappers.

Clouds are tough to wrangle. Maybe put on your thunder vest, just in case….

Cupcake, I’ve been putting my thunder vest on – and then my person takes it off – and then she has to put it back on again. This is going to be a long summer.

Sleeper sneaky clouds with bad habits! Oh, no! Guess they don’t want to share vacation sites. Spoiled bullies are so selfish

Karen, your comment is so poetic. I might have to put on my poetry hat to respond correctly.

Oh, no… they really are deceiving, aren’t they?! And I see you are not wearing your thunder vest!
At least they look good in photos – or it’s what I was saying about your person making them look good! 😉

Marina, I had to put on my thunder vest right after this. And my person says those clouds do look good – but I don’t know what she sees in them.

Newbie here – What is a thunder vest? I had a border collie cross terrified of thunder. 😦 She got much better when she was old and her hearing deteriorated. Agree with you Bongo – we humans have very bad hearing! Sending you calming vibes from my mutts 🙂

Scifihammy, The one I have is actually called an Anxiety Vest but the most popular one is the Thundershirt. Here’s a link to their site. http://www.thundershirt.com/ My vest helps calm me a little, but I’m still deathly afraid of the thunder. Thanks for the calming vibes.

how can something that looks like a snow cone be scary? I do not like when they talk.

Fredrieka, a talking snow cone. Hmmm. I bet a real snow cone would have a much nicer voice.

This time of year is scary here, too….thunders and sudden rain……sometimes typhoon comes…
Those fluffy clouds are beautiful that reminds me cotton candy!
Please stay safe with your person Bongo, I’m sure she protects you!

Kevin, my person protects me when she’s home but sometimes she leaves me in dog jail and goes away. And sometimes she makes me go outside. She says she can’t hear any thunder but I can.

You’re right Bongo and clouds are sneaky! Now you may know or maybe you could ask your person, but in the next to last photo, is that called Mitten Rock? Or Mitten something….I think I learned that a long time ago when I was in school so you can only imagine HOW long ago that was. In any case, the colors and lighting are really beautiful.

Diane, that rock on the left is called Thunder Mountain. It has a couple other names and some rocks have changed their names over the years, but I haven’t heard of a Mitten Rock around here lately.

Well it was back when I was in about 3 or 4th grade studying Joe Many Goats…seriously, am I too weird to remember that. In all this time maybe Mitten Rock crumbled into dust.

        July 14, 2014 at 11:38 am

My person had to Google Joe Many Goats. When she learned it was about the Navajos she figured it out. You’re probably thinking of The Mittens in Monument Valley. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_formations_in_the_United_States#mediaviewer/File:MonumentValley_640px.jpg She also found a Mitten Rock in New Mexico on the Navajo Reservation.

Your person is awesome & yes, I remember my project on ol’ Joe was about the Navajos! Good detective work.
