I’m not sure who was up to the most mischief this weekend.
My people or the thunder.
On Saturday my person waited until almost the end of the day to let me take her for a walk.
She had some excuse about it being too hot.
So by the time she finally said we could go, we couldn’t.
Because the thunder had shown up.
There’s no way I’m going out there when there’s thunder.
I mean, what if it comes and grabs me and takes me back into the sky with it.
And then drops me.
Or what if it chases me all the way up a mountain.
No, I don’t trust that thunder at all.
But that wasn’t all the mischief.
On Sunday my people locked me in dog jail.
And left me.
And it rained real hard.
It made so much noise on the roof that my dog bed got wet too.
We must have a leaky roof.
Person, if you type that I’m calling you on more mischief.
I can’t help it if I get things wet when I’m scared.
Loud rain is scary.
Then my people came back home and the thunder must have followed them, because it thundered the whole rest of the day.
I hope my trails are still around.
I haven’t been able to check on them for two days now.
But here’s the worst part.
My people left me in dog jail again.
And this time it thundered and rained.
I think the only one I can still trust around here is my sneaky squeaky snake.

Ahhhh. Poor Bongo. I know the thunder is scary, but it is really pretty too. I wouldn’t be worried about the thunder snatching you up. You’re too awesome to be snatched up by the thunder.

Kimberly, I hope you can convince the thunder of that.

Poor little Bongo! That rain and thunder must’ve REALLY been terrifying. It scared the wet out of you! Hang in there, buddy. It can’t thunder forever.
Love and licks,

Cupcake, the thunder seems like forever this time of year. It doesn’t quit until around the middle of September.

Be strong, my dear sweet Bongo! As you already know we hate thunder as well and we also get ‘leaky ceilings’!!! I’m glad you have your loyal snake! May the thunder go away!!!! 🙂

Thanks Marina. Maybe we can send that thunder to the middle of the ocean somewhere where nobody is.

Ku, my people have to come into the hallway to cuddle with me. That’s where I hang out when there’s thunder because there aren’t any windows there.

Oh you poor baby Bongo! We’ve been getting a lot of thunder here too and then that lightening stuff comes and really scares me. Most of it happens at night when Diane’s sleeping and I try hard not to wake her up but I guess she’s just too sensitive when I drape myself across her. I do a lot of drooling when all that goes on but I never wet the carpet…or I don’t think I did. I usually save that for when company comes to visit me – I just get so excited….Lola

Lola, I get excited when people come to visit me too. I usually tear up one of my toys. My person was happy that last time all I tore up was a tennis ball. I have lots of those.

Oh no! Thunder is the worst. I bet you’ll be able to get your person out for a walk soon. You have to check on those trails!

I finally made it out for a walk without any thunder. We had some before my walk, but I guess my person sent it away.

Bongo I am starting to think that maybe you need a Thundershirt like Dennis the Vizsla has. They seem to work very well when it rain and thunders.

Marty, I have an anxiety vest which is like a Thundershirt. It helps a little, but not nearly enough. And I always stress when my person puts it on me because that means there’s going to be more thunder.

Poor Bongo, I wish there was something that would help you 😦 Mom says we are really lucky that my woofie sisters aren’t afraid because all of her woofies growing up were and she knows how tough it was on them. Sending you a big head bump and Mom is sending you a {{hug}}

fancy…a leak just over your bed! well I never, but there were exceptional circumstances..soyou are forgiven for any little mishaps..
you should have called me Bongo I would have flown on my broomstick all the way across the oceans to give you cuddles n your hour of need….
Bad persons leaving poor Bongo..you should have gone with them to protect them from harm on their journey.
I bet that the long message you left the day before the rain came…. has disappeared, invisible writing
love you Bongo xxx

Patrecia, there will be lots of thunder here for the next two months so I think I’ll need a hot line directly to you. Help! There’s more thunder coming now. And my invisible message has been completely washed away. Not even a trace of smell left.

Perhaps you should take your person on walks early in the morning so that your messages do not appear so quickly and the thunder can read them and runs away with all its lightnings and peals.
Bongo
July 15, 2014 at 12:57 pm
Great idea Kolytyi. I’ll scare that thunder away. Besides, the only good time for walks this time of year are early in the morning or in the evening when the sun’s almost down. It’s too hot in the middle of the day.
