Woo woo! Today is my absolute favorite holiday.
It’s National Mutt Day!
A holiday made especially for me.
And all of my mutt friends, of course.
There are actually two National Mutt Days each year, which makes it even better.
It’s going to come around again on December 2nd.
Why, do you ask, does this holiday come around twice a year?
Well, I’ll tell you.
It’s because there are so many mutts in shelters that need to find forever homes.
The goal of National Mutt Day is to save 10,000 mutts.
With two Mutt Days a year twice as many mutts can be saved.
I think I’d better do my part.
I’m off to the animal shelter to find me a mutt brother.
What, person?
What do you mean I have to ask you first?
Did you ask me before you let another cat live here?

Chancy and Mumsy, mutts are the best. I’m still trying to get my person to give me a lift to the shelter though so I can find a mutt brother.

just tell her I have 6 and they are no problem at all and if it was a little dog she would not even notice it was even there…Go on person SAVE A MUTT!

Cupcake, I’m with you on that one. We should make a run for the shelter and bring more mutts home. If there’s too many for the houses we live in we can take some to the neighbors.

Perhaps first you should visit the shelter’s homepage, and accidentally leave the page of the nicest mutt you have found there on the screen… And if your person does not react with a yell “How cute! Come on, Bongo, we have to adopt him/her immediately!”, you could do this next day, and the next day again, till she produces the correct response.

Ginger, since the dogs in the shelter are locked up I keep hoping I’ll find a dog on my trails that I can bring home. That only happened once though, and then my person called that dog’s person and that was the end of that.
