Thunder in the Jail

19 Aug

What a terrible, horrible day it was!

Bongo in his dog jail on his new bed

My people locked me in dog jail and left.

It was only me and the cats in the house.

And then it happened.

I’m stuck in dog jail with thunder all around.

It was awful!

My person says when she was in the next town the thunder cracked right over her head and she had to drive next to a river that filled up the other lane of the road she was on.

All I can say is  –

She hasn’t seen anything.

She has no idea what it’s like when thunder tries to sneak in your dog jail.

Even the coziest blanket doesn’t seem to help!

Karen, nothing helps when the thunder sneaks in.

Molly agrees. Thunder is pounding on the door here today. Even treats aren’t helping…she was planning on playing with friends today, but can’t – and it’s loud, too. Totally unfair. (RC suggests starting a petition to send thunder someplace else)

I usually have a hard time agreeing with a cat, but this time RC is right on. I’m starting that petition today.

Poor Bongo, if only I had known I would have jumped on my broomstick, and like Batwoman I would have flown to rescue you. I would bring hou to ssfety so you could hide under my bed like Charly does when it thunders…..I do hope that you are safe now…it must have been a lot of rain

Patrecia, please come and take me to hide under your bed. That thunder keeps coming back. Last night it boomed really loud right over our house.

Oh, Nooooo, not that mischievous thunder again! I hope your person is safe!!!
I have to tell you that it is much much safer where you are, Bongo. May sound scary but really, that thunder guy cannot reach you in there! I promise. Maybe some fish could convince you…

Marina, when it’s thundering I won’t even touch the fish. But as soon as the storm is over they’ll be gone. And they didn’t swim away either.

Old Cissy feels the same way, momwithoutpaws was going to get her a Thunder Shirt they have for paw babies when they are frightened.
When she brought me home Old Cissy no longer is afraid, I guess I am the thunder shirt

Fredrieka, could you come to my house? My thunder shirt doesn’t work good enough. I bet you would work better.

I am self contained I think that is why I work better than a thunder shirt. The trainer told mom to ignore old Cissy, pretend nothing is different. So she tries to do that also. We think it is starting to help

Oh Bongo how could they leave you alone in jail with the thunder. Next time give me your address and I will come and break you out.

Thanks Don’t Doubt. I’m sending my address now. Because I know I’ll need to be broken out of jail soon.

Bongo do you have your Mom put on some nice soothing music when she leaves you? Kind of loud? That is what Gram and Gramps do for Jessie James at their house and it seems to help.

Marty, I’ll have to have my person try that. She hardly ever plays music for me.

You are safe in your jail…it keeps you in but also keeps the bad stuff out.

I have to put on the sad face. I’m hoping my person will feel really bad and she won’t leave me when there’s thunder.
