What’s an Eclipse?

24 Oct

Bongo looking toward the sunThere was a partial solar eclipse around here.

My person says that eclipse showed up at other places too, but I only know what happens around my house.

Actually, I don’t always know what happens around my house.

Like, what is an eclipse anyway?

My person says it’s when the moon goes in front of the sun and it looks like somebody took a bite out of the sun.

I wonder if it tasted good.

.

.

.

My people put on special glasses so they could look at the eclipse.

But they didn’t give any of those glasses to me.

I don’t know why they wanted to look at a silly old eclipse anyway.

If somebody’s eating the sun and they’re not sharing any with me then they can have their eclipse and eat it too.

Bongo yawning

This is what I think of that eclipse.

I’ll find somebody else to give me treats.

Lily & Edward, the sun got so bright that when my person tried to put those special glasses over a camera lens and take a picture it just looked like the round sun. The big bite didn’t show up.

No no Bono, you would not want to take a bit out of the sun…I think it would be like when I grabbed that hot piece of bacon that fell on the floor our of the frying pan. I really wish I hadn’t done that.

Lola, it must be really bad if it caused you to not want bacon.

Lola, tell Diane I forgive her. I have to get after my person all the time when she makes typos.

As long as our people’s fingers work for the scratches, it’s okay with me.

Oh no! You didn’t get any glasses? I don’t really know what an eclipse is because I have either missed the daylight eclipse because of work, and always miss the nightime events from light pollution and cloud cover. But don’t worry, they don’t taste good anyway.

Andrea, that’s what I figured. What good is an eclipse if you don’t want to eat it?

I’m with you, B. The eclipse sounds pretty boring and not even that delicious. Around here, it was too cloudy to see anything except…. clouds.

    Love and licks,

Cupcake, that’s what happened to us during the last lunar eclipse. Clouds everywhere. Yesterday was a clear day here, but I still don’t know what the big deal was.

I did not see an eclipse because I have to go to bed before it happened, also it was too cloudy and I did not see the sun all day

Patrecia, next eclipse you’ll have to come here. We mostly get sunny days – although my person reminded me that the last lunar eclipse was covered in clouds.

It was nice and bright in your neck of the woods! We had a cloudy, rainy day.

Jen, it sounds like a lot of my friends missed the eclipse because of clouds.

My mom likes watching Eclipse with special glasses when it comes, too. But I’m sure it looks much more mysterious from your trails than where we live. We’re jealous of your person, Bongo!

Kevin, I guess your mom will have to come visit my trails the next time there’s going to be an eclipse.

Chancy and Mumsy, when I get treats they’re gone so fast that I forgot I had them. So I always need more.

We didn’t get to see it in the Dothan, AL area– too much fog.

Sandra, we were lucky to have a nice, clear day here – but we missed the last lunar eclipse due to clouds.

I don’t think Ginger was fast enough. The sun recovered and you can’t even tell that anybody took a bite out of it.

That’s right, Bongo! Who could be eating the sun and not sharing?!!!! Disgraceful! 🙂

Anyone who’s got that much to eat should share it with everybody.
