NaNoWoofMo is Here!

05 Nov

Bongo with sunglasses onI finally figured out a way to get my person to help me with another blog post.

And I didn’t even have to have an adventure to do it.

Because another dog is in the middle of an adventure.

You see, my friends at Rocco’s House invited me to take part in NaNoWoofMo for the second year in a row. It’s great fun and any pet blogger – even cats – can take part by picking a day to write a chapter. There’s still lots of days open so stop by Rocco’s House and leave a comment if you’d like to take part. All the links to each day’s chapter will be there too.

The story started at Rocco’s House, then continued on with my buddy Kuruk, travelled over to Hailey and Zaphod’s blog and now here it is on mine.

So here goes:

I could hear the hollow sound as someone stepped on a loose board before I noticed the silhouette of a man on the porch. He held a long stick by his side.

“It’s those coyotes again,” the man said.

I watched as the man raised that stick and pointed it directly at me.

Crack!

The sound deafened me and at the same time something buried itself into the ground near my front paw, raising a pile of dust.

I ran deeper into the shadows.

The man shook his head and went back inside.

The smell of bacon had grown even stronger as it had escaped out the once opened door. My tummy rumbled.

As I lay in the dark wondering how to get that bacon, a sharp pain moved up my back, beginning from the area where I had cut myself on the fence.

I yelped.

***

Oh no, we have to wait till tomorrow to find out what happens next when Swami Zoe takes over. I can’t wait to read more of the story.

Wait a minute. Isn’t Swami Zoe a cat?

Oh, I guess I did say that cats can take part in this too.

As long as they have their own blog and don’t try to steal the blog of the dog they live with.

oh very suave…you look just like one of those good looking guys who lay stretched out on the beach sunning their beautiful bodies…..this is definitely a look that competes with the Detective look.

as for the story, oh I did not like that big man with a stick.I would have duffed him up. I don’t like people to have sticks in hand when near animals, dog or coyote…so I hope you get away from him but I am so sorry that you caught yourself on the fence…..I hope that there are not any more nasty persons

Patrecia, glad you like the look. That dog in the story has adventures till the end of the month, so who knows what will happen. I guess we have to follow him from blog to blog.

I knew there was a reason I only like big sticks when I am carrying them!

    Love and licks,

Cupcake, big sticks are much better when we carry them or they’re thrown for us to fetch.

Oh Bongo, I’m on the edge of my fluffbutt! Swami Zoe is my sisfur (don’t worry she has her own bloggy and will never take mine!) so I hope she helps the pup get some BACON! WOL!

Ku, I sure hope Swami Zoe will be nice to that pup. I’m thinking the cats here should get their own blog too, but I think their lives are too boring for a blog.

I don’t think I can join in, he would be saved and sleeping in Mom’s bed if we write a section 🙂

Whut? Did u say BACON? I Luvs bacon!!! Lola

Lola, bacon is the best. And that poor dog in the story hasn’t been able to get to it. I’d help him, but if I get hold of any bacon it’s gone in an instant.

Thanks for sending this to me. 😀 I got a little behind due to a certain toddler of mine. You are a truly fantastic writer! I was on the edge of my seat for the whole chapter. I sure hope the poor guy makes it!

Thanks. My person used to have a toddler – about 20 years ago – so she knows what it’s like. I guess we might be on the edge of our seats for awhile since that poor pup will be having adventures all month.

Does that happen? Do some dogs try to steal the blogs of their brother and sister dogs? MOUSES!

I wonder if that can happen with cats, too. I had better keep a close eye on my fur-fam ’cause let me tell you, that Seville has been known to be seen, eyeing my blog.

    Purrs,
    Nissy

Nissy, I’m an only dog living with two cats and those cats keep trying to steal my blog. They don’t have their own blog because they don’t have enough adventures and everyone would get bored reading about them. Keep an eye on your blog because fur friends sometimes want their moment of fame. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Sweet Bongo you are just so funny with your antics to keep an eye on Gizmo and Scratchy. You look most handsome and cool in your shades. That was a very good and interesting chapter. Hugs and nose kisses
