Thunder Fears Be Gone

08 Oct

Bongo Modeling his Anxiety WrapMy person got me an Anxiety Wrap and she said she hopes it will calm me down during thunder. The only thing is she got it at the end of thunder season. I don’t know what she was thinking. I don’t need it now.

Well, my person must have special powers or something because she made the thunderstorms come back so she could try out that anxiety wrap on me. The first part of this week both my people left for the day and they left me with that anxiety wrap on. When they came home my person said she worried about what I would do because there was really loud thunder where she went. I didn’t think it was that bad. Maybe her thunder was louder. I did my usual stuff – eat the cat food, invade the litter box, and mess up my person’s bed – but I didn’t break anything. I swear I didn’t.

My person has been putting that vest on me before she leaves all week. One time she took it off and it started thundering right after that. I think my person made that thunder come so she’d have an excuse to put the vest on me again. I have to admit that the thunder isn’t quite so scary when I have the vest on.

It was really embarrassing though when my person made me go for walks in that vest. I’m sure glad we didn’t see any other dogs. I would have been really upset if they laughed at me.

I think Mrs. P.I.B. would enjoy it. We could be twins.

We think you look quite handsome in that vest and if it helps with the thunder, then it is worth while. You really shouldn’t worry about how you look cause we think you look terrific. Hope all of you have a super week end.

Oh Bongo, I bet you’re not upset at all… this is just a big put-on for the humans’ benefit. You do look rather handsome in that vest!

Thanks Rumpy. I do kind of like the attention – especially when my person puts the vest on me.

I hear so many great things about these anxiety wraps/thundershirts. Do you leave it on them all day long?

I caught the Saturday Blog Hop from Life with Dogs and found my way here. Great blog! Definitely subscribing!

Hi Brenda, thanks for stopping by. I’ve been leaving the anxiety wrap on all day long if it looks like it may thunder any time, or if we’re leaving Bongo home alone and thunder is predicted. Like Bongo mentioned, I thought it was clearing up one day so I took it off and a few minutes later it started thundering and I had to put it back on.

Thanks for the reply! I’ve been contemplating getting one for my Titan because he gets a lil scared during thunderstorms. He doesn’t panic, he just goes into the bedroom and hides in the corner. Kind of funny sight to see and 80+ lb. pit bull curled up in the corner. 😉

Brenda, that does sound like quite a sight – large pit bull in the corner. Bongo normally starts shaking and tucks his tail between his legs, and if we’re not home and there’s a bad storm we come home to a disaster.

Brenda, I guess it is good to have a good mommy. I just wish she’d make that thunder go away.

I think you look great in your thundershirt. My person said she would get one for me if we lived somewhere we have thunder. But she might get one for traveling anyway because we sometimes visit places that have big thunder.

Lola, you are so lucky to live where there isn’t any thunder.
