Under the Futon

26 Nov

Bongo after Scratchy under the futonI don’t get to go in the garage very often. That’s where my food is kept. Every once in awhile my person goes in there and lets me come in too. There are usually nuggets of food on the floor that one of my people dropped when they were getting food out for me so going in the garage is always a treat.

Well the other day Scratchy went in the garage. Hey! Any food in there is mine Scratchy. Don’t you dare eat it.

I was really upset with Scratchy for going in the garage. I was sure he’d eaten all my food, so when he came back in the house I chased him under the futon.

Scratchy hunkered down under there and the futon is high enough that I could get my head in there and get at Scratchy. It was kind of fun.

Ouch! Scratchy, when we’re playing like this you’re not supposed to use your claws.

See Bongo, that’s what you get when Scratchy doesn’t know that you’re playing.

Sandra, I think Scratchy nose – knows? He just doesn’t play fair.

I think Scratchy likes this game, or else he would have gone somewhere you couldn’t get to him!

Wonderbutt’s person – I think you’re so right. He’s always going where I can’t get to him – so I know he likes to hang out and play with me sometimes, or he wouldn’t do it.

How come kitties always get the best of everything…special garage trips, the best hiding spots and claws?! Bongo, Harley and Scarlett feel the same way especially when Roory gets a pup nose!

Deannamelanie, it seems like kitties do get special treatment. At least Scratchy gets left behind when my person takes me on walks.

Well…. we have some of those plastic stacking storage thingies that Jen keeps our food in. The cats food USED to be in the bottom bin until she found out that the cats learned how to open it and were helping themselves. Now there’s an empty one at the bottom. GEE THANKS KITTIES!!!!

Rumpy, it seems like us dogs get in all the trouble and half the time it’s those kitties who set us up.

You do have to watch out for kitty claws–they are wicked!

Patricia, I had those kitty claws figured out – but it’s been a long time and I forgot.

Just Ramblin’ Pier, Scratchy used to get me when I first came here, but it’s been a long time and I forgot.

The clue is in the name – Scratchy! 🙂

Bassa, you are so right. When my younger person was six he gave Scratchy that name. I bet you can guess why.

Brown Dawgs, Scratchy’s claws are nothing to mess around with – although my person says he doesn’t stick them out very often. I guess he just picks on me.

Those cats. They make the rules and then they just change them anytime they want – so there aren’t really rules right? (cat logic). Bongo, guard those food crumbs – it’s just one mouthful on the way to getting the whole bag.

Karen, you’re right about cats. They seem to do whatever they want. I’ll keep a good eye on Scratchy to make sure he doesn’t get any more of my food.

You can’t trust a cat, they can turn on you in an instant and you can loose an eye. Next time chase it out the door and down the street. It’s time dogs made a stand!

Bones, I’m with ya. Out the door and down the street is a good place for Scratchy. It’s too bad he keeps coming back.

Collies, you really know how to take care of a cat. I might have to find some dress up clothes for Scratchy.

Kevin, I’m usually pretty good at avoiding Scratchy’s claws because he got me pretty good a few times when I was new here – but this time I got carried away and forgot.
