For the last couple of days the large puddle on my trail has been occupied when we walk toward it. By the time we get there everyone has scattered. Flown up into the trees to get away from us. My person was disappointed because she wanted to get pictures of those birds hanging out around my puddle. I just wanted to chase a few.
Those birds have red breasts and I don’t see them around here very often. My person said the birds are robins and she used to see a lot more of them when she lived in Seattle. She thought it was strange that birds were migrating this late in the year, so she looked online and found out why. She says robins stay wherever they can find food – so some don’t migrate at all, but many have to leave their breeding grounds in winter since there’s not as much food around.
Okay, so much for Bongo facts. When we came back home today we found more robins in a neighbor’s yard. My person got a picture of one but it wouldn’t let us get very close. My person says she’ll Photoshop the robin into the puddle for me.
I don’t think that’s quite the same. I haven’t figured out how to chase a Photoshopped robin.

Lola, I don’t know what it is with those birds because I never get to chase them. Every time I come near they all fly up into the trees.

LOL Bongo. Love the picture. 🙂 Come visit. We have lots of robins around here. They are the state bird of Michigan. But you will have to wait until Spring. When we see them back, we consider it a sign of Spring.

Brown Dawgs, it would be great fun to chase robins with you – that is, when you’re not out getting ducks. I have pointer in my so I guess I might just point them out.

how I wish I was a dog and not a person then I could jump in puddles and chase birds and ducks. It must be fun even though I would not catch them
Lots of love to you Bongo. I will cuddle your ears and plonk a big kiss on your head

Patreciau, people can jump in puddles and chase birds and ducks too, but most of them stop when they get bigger. That’s the advantage of being a dog – we don’t know that we’re supposed to grow up.

We have robins hang around here year-round. I don’t bother them and they don’t bother me. Now them bluejays are a different story. They are ALWAYS causing trouble!

Rumpy, robins just pass through here, but we’ve got those darn bluejays all year too. They mostly like to harass the cats though so I think they’re alright.

I love robins – they remind me of home! Don’t get them here in Oz! 😦
That was an interesting fact about some robins not migrating at all if there is enough food around their area.

Barb, we thought the fact about robins was interesting too. My person noticed that they’re usually only around for a short time each year. Now we know why.

Woof Bongo. I glad you liked my song. Sampson and Zeus both chase robins too and chickadees and bluejays and ducks…they are smart enough to leave the eagles be though. 😀

We don’t have robins around here, but have many sparrows and some pigeons, so I love chasing them!!! Of course, I never catch them though…..because I’m always on a leash, and my mom is very slow to run together!!! Coem on mom!

Thank you sweet Bongo for that information on robins. Mumsy saw one in our yard the other day and wondered why it was still here since we usually see them in spring and summer. We keep out lots of birdseed so I guess that is why we still have at least one robin. Good luck chasing Photoshopped robins. Hugs and nose kisses
