Outside I love to play Frisbee, but my Frisbee isn’t allowed inside the house. I don’t know why. My person says it might break something, but how much damage can a piece of plastic make?
At least my person lets me have some toys in the house. I have some soft balls and sometimes when I bring them to someone they’ll toss them so I can catch them. Usually I bring them to whoever is closest. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn’t.
Well, the other day Scratchy was closest so I brought him my ball and dropped it at his feet. He just looked at it. He didn’t toss it for me. He didn’t even bat it back to me. He could have at least done that.
Come on, Scratchy. Pick that ball up in your little paws and throw it to me. I know you can do it.

Oh, Bongo, I think you need to find another friend to play with. Scratchy doesn’t look quite up to it!

Marina, Scratchy is usually an old stick in the mud when it comes to playing.

Fluffy Tufts, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I can’t believe Scratchy wouldn’t toss that ball back either. It’s not like he wanted it for himself or anything.

That’s hilarious Bongo! You dogs sure are funny.. My dog does the same thing with my cat Mr. Lola. Then he barks at him when the cat doesn’t throw the ball. ~
Wow, Scatchy sure looks mad at you Bongo. Did you disturb his cat nap or something??

Jaxart4animals, it seems like every time I try to get Scratchy to play he gets mad at me. I don’t get it.

Those kitties never want to cooperate! Our kitty brings her toys over to us, as if we are going to throw them for her!

Brown Dawgs, I guess we need to get our kitties together and they can play with each other. They sure don’t know how to play with us.

Good try Bongo. Cats are just so lazy (and self centered). But just try to “borrow” their mousie….Hope you found someone to play.

Madam Lasagna says, “Cats are tiresome. Try dropping the ball downstairs, then chase after it. Your person will probably become annoyed after awhile, but you’ll get a little fun time in.”
Bongo
January 13, 2012 at 3:36 pm
Madam Lasagana, no stairs here, so I usually drop the ball in my person’s lap. Sometimes she even tosses it back for me to catch. If not, I just find another ball until her lap has a collection.

Vanilla Bean, Scratchy can live up to his name. He was actually named by my younger person who was six when Scratchy came to live here. I bet you can figure out why my younger person named him that.

LoL. Yea, good luck getting a cat to do anything let alone play fetch / toss with you! At least you’re trying to include Scratchy in your activities. Maybe one day he’ll come around. Seems like you caught him mid-nap…?
Bongo
January 13, 2012 at 6:02 pm
Lilly, it seems like Scratchy is always mid-nap – unless he’s busy bugging my person when she’s on the computer.

Hi Bongo!
This is Tigger the cat who has to put up with all these collies. What you have to do Bongo is negotiate with Scratchy. You see she has the ball and figures she has the power now. So, if you want the ball give her something for it, like a treat! 🙂 Then she will eat her treat and you can have your ball…. Cats are always looking for a way to get a price for what they have. 🙂 You know us cats, what is yours is ours, what is ours is ours…. its a cat thing. Someday, when we rule the world you’ll understand… MEOW!!!!
God Bless You!
Tigger, sigh.. and yes those collies and that old guy…. 🙂
Bongo
January 14, 2012 at 10:51 am
Tigger, this is Scratchy. You gave Bongo some good advice but it will never work for him. You see, if Bongo gets hold of a treat to give to me it will never get near me. Bongo can’t control himself and he’ll eat it the first chance he gets. No self control. That’s why cats are going to rule the world.

Hi, Bongo! My name is Kitsten. I am a cat that plays fetch with my humans. I can throw a ball (as long as it is little and fits in my mouth.) I also like to play hide and seek with my toys. My favorite hiding places are in the toes of my owner’s shoes. (I did it with a dead mouse once. My owners didnt’ like that!) Perhaps Scratchy would rather play hide and seek with the ball.
Bongo
January 14, 2012 at 9:22 pm
Kitsten, I think I’d like to play ball with you. Maybe you can teach Scratchy how it’s done. I think he would just hide the balls under the furniture where I can’t reach them.

January 15, 2012 at 12:24 am
Bongo, coming from a Cat like myself, I think the best way to get the ball away from Scratchy, if this situation comes up again, would be to let your owner take the ball back for you. Cats are difficult when it comes to sharing…As I would know from my sisters.
