Scratchy, Get Down!

21 Jan

Scratchy in the BathroomHey person! Scratchy’s hiding in the bathroom!

I’d get him down for you but I can’t jump that high.

Come on, get him down person. You know what he’s going to do. He thinks we don’t know what he’s up to. As soon as he thinks nobody’s looking he’s going to jump down on the counter and get the frog.

Person, you shouldn’t have left the bathroom door open. It kind of defeats the purpose of leaving the frog in there so Scratchy can’t get him.

Scratchy, get down. I know what you’re up to. You’d better come down because I’m going to chase you as soon as you leave the bathroom.

Wait a minute. Maybe I should let Scratchy get that frog. If he gets the frog out of his container that frog would go hopping all over the house. What fun, pouncing on a hopping frog.

Never mind person, I think Scratchy’s under your bed.

Rumpy, I guess you’re right. I wonder what else I can get Scratchy to do for me.

LOL Bongo, cats are good for stuff sometimes! We think you would have lots of fun chasing that frog all over the house. On the other hand, your person might not like it as much 🙂

Deanna, Scratchy can be annoying but I guess he’s good for something sometimes. I would just have to figure out how to put all the blame on him for letting the frog loose.

I’m glad Scratchy finally got down. It was getting tense, and I was worried about the frog, so that’s a relief.

Henry, Scratchy never gets very far. If he starts messing with the frog my person hears the tell tale sounds when he moves the frog’s container.

LOL! I would just love to see person’s face when scratchy does jump, knocks frog over and Bongo chases after frog. that would be such a riot!

Yashikibuta, you forgot to add the part about when I knock my person down as she tries to rescue the frog.

Dianda, Scratchy can be annoying, but sometimes he’s useful.

Susie, Scratchy is usually up to no good. I have to keep a watchful eye on him.

Duke, I’m glad you were able to sneak onto your person’s laptop. I can force myself to team up with Scratchy when I see a benefit in it.

Muffy, Noel, and Connie – this is Scratchy. I have to sneak on Bongo’s blog when he isn’t looking and he gets really mad when he finds out.

You better be real careful Bongo . . . looks like Scratchy has his headlights on! Bright eye lights!

Sunshine, headlights aren’t as scary as those sharp things he gets out sometimes.

Do you have a frog at your house, Bongo? Woof?

Kevin, we do have a frog. It’s one of those kind that you can grow from a tadpole and it always has to be in water. My younger person got it when he was much younger. The frog is over ten years old.

Bongo, don’t you think Scratchy is scared of the frog, because he’s sitting high on the cupboard… at least I would be up there too:)

Angelswhisper, Scratchy can be tricky. Sometimes he gets right on the counter with the frog and tries to harass him.

    Bongo,

Though I’m supposed to be resting my hand, I can’t resist commenting on how this reminds me of my little parrot who was frightened out of her cage by one of the cats (some stupid Human left the door open accidentally, then left the room!!!). Madam Lasagna was most interested in Flo’s unsupervised appearance on the floor. Fortunately Flo squawked, “Hello? Hello?” and her Human showed up to prevent feathers from flying! Poor little Frog might not like playing with you or Scratchy so much.

Nanina, that frog might be in trouble because he can’t shout “hello.” All he can do is croak. All the more fun for me. My person says she’s glad you rescued Flo in time, but I’d be right there with Madam Lasagna.

Sweet Bongo are you up for a little mischief with Scratchy and the frog situation? We hope Scratchy got down and froggie is okay. Hugs and nose kisses

Chancy and Mumsy, Scratchy finally came down and no one got the frog. I guess that means we have an chance another day.

Looks familiar, cat up high, dogs waiting for the chance to chase the cat. Cat running across the house, dogs chasing, noise crash, and then cat up high, dogs waiting!!

Tim, Scratchy usually gets up high before I even have a chance to chase him. It would be more fun if he’d stay on the ground and run but he won’t do it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    Hi Bongo!
Yes, it would be fun to let Scratchy chase the frog while you chase her. Ginger says you should let her get the frog then have frog legs… Ginger is always looking for another food opportunity….
Great post and keep up the wonderful stories and insights!

    God Bless You!

Collies and Chuck – and especially Ginger, that frog legs thing sounds good. I hadn’t even thought of that. I would offer to share but it’s a very small frog.

Scratchy sure gets himself into some interesting situations.

    And let the Froggy live!

Brown Dawgs, if Scratchy and I had our way that frog would probably be a goner – but my person watches out for the frog.

Hmmmm……a loose froggy in the house. That could actually be fun Bongo!

Bassetmomma, I was sure hoping for a loose froggy to chase – but it didn’t happen.

…poor little frog! I can imagine its little heart pounding, hopping as far away as he can from you two! He is not a squeaky toy you know! You, Bongo are a wise dog and as such you should protect other beings, like the frog!

    • Bongo

      January 23, 2012 at 11:06 am

Marina, if I protect the frog then I have to go after Scratchy. He’s the one that tries to get the frog out of his container.

Karen, I’ve got to keep an eye on Scratchy all the time. He’s up to no good.

🙂 Fergus likes frogs. Sometimes green tree frogs swim up the toilet and makes an undignified entrance to the house… I usually hear their alarm call in the middle of the night when they’re surrounded by Fergus and George. This is always followed by a swift resuce and ‘putting the frog out’, much to the disgust of the felines!

Flo, that would be so much fun if frogs made their way into our house, but the only frog that lives around here is the one that lives in our bathroom.
