Ghost Dog Revisited

20 Jan

Ghost DogToday my person and I started out on our walk the way we usually do. We turned into the trailhead and there he stood, waiting for us. Ghost Dog. The same Ghost Dog that had invaded my yard awhile back. At least he wasn’t in my yard this time.

Well, Ghost Dog, I guess this is a shared trailhead so I don’t mind (very much) if you’re here. Just don’t go hanging out in my yard anymore.

Ghost Dog came over to say hi and since I wasn’t defending my yard and didn’t feel like I had to defend the trailhead I let him.

We finally got to meet nose to butt face to face. I thought maybe he’d join us on our walk. I get to meet other dogs on my trails, but I haven’t gotten to go on a walk with another dog in a very long time.

But you know what Ghost Dog did? He disappeared. He just up and disappeared again.

My person says she knows what his real name is but I don’t care. Anyone who keeps disappearing like that, in my book will always be called Ghost Dog.

Strange dog this Ghost dog… Next time you see him, make sure he doesn’t attack your person!

Sweet Kitten, I checked this Ghost Dog out thoroughly and I don’t think he’s any threat to my person – but I’ll keep an eye on him – until he disappears, that is.

I know you are an intelligent dog, so I trust your judgment.

I wonder if Ghost dog has a person. (?)

Jaxart4animals, my person found out that Ghost Dog lives behind us. She met Ghost Dog’s people but I guess they don’t make Ghost Dog stick around close like my person does to me.

That’s dangerous for Ghost Dog! But people that don’t keep dogs close to home probably wouldn’t listen. *sigh*

Rumpy, my person and I agree that it’s dangerous for Ghost Dog to wander. So far where we’ve seen him has been not far from his home and the traffic has to go slow here due to the nature of the roads – but we hope he doesn’t wander into a coyote den.

That solves the riddle of the missing puddle..Ghost Dog has taken it

    • Bongo

      January 20, 2012 at 2:31 pm

Patreciau, that makes perfect sense since Ghost Dog and the puddle both disappeared. Boy, next time I see Ghost Dog… Oh, he’ll probably disappear before I can do anything.

    Hi Bongo!

How cool you got to meet Ghost Dog! We agree that Ghost Dog took your puddle!!!!

    Your friends,

Collies, that does it. Two of you think Ghost Dog took my puddle so it must be true. I’m going to go look for him now.

Ghost Dog is very fashionable with that bandana he is sporting.

Wonderbutt’s person, that bandana is pretty fashionable isn’t it? I might have to get my person to get me one.

Ghost dog is probably jealous of you and trying to figure out how to do a “Swap your Dog” reality show?

Karen, thanks for the warning. I’ll be even more wary of Ghost Dog. I never want to change places – except that he does get to run around free. That would be fun.

The Ghost dog is really like a ghost because of not only his white fur appearance but also his behaviour!!! He suddenly disappeared!

    • Bongo

      January 20, 2012 at 11:50 pm

Kevin, he really seems like a ghost but I’m glad he’s not. I think I’d be really scared if I ever ran across a real ghost dog.

Doctor Vet, I have to admit he is pretty friendly. Maybe I should call him Casper. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Angelswhisper, I wonder if Ghost Dog Casper would answer if my person called him that.

It looks like this Ghost Dog wants to be friends with you. I’m sure you’ll see him again, Bongo, and maybe even play with him next time[?].

Marina, my person says Ghost Dog lives nearby, so I’m sure I’ll see him again – but so far I can’t seem to get him to play.

I think it would make a great ghost story. You should write it. Hope the real Ghost Dog stays safe though.

    Love and licks, Winnie

Winnie, I might have to try that. I’ve never written a ghost story before.

Sounds like Ghost Dog is quite the elusive character! It’s fitting he’s big and white 🙂

I’m glad you finally got to meet this Ghost Dog fellow. I hope he has a person watching over him!

Deanna, my person met Ghost Dog’s people. I guess they just aren’t concerned about him staying in his own yard.

Good call, Bongo. I agree. He’ll always be known as Ghost Dog. That’s so spooky, it sends chills down my tail.

Henry, I think even if he starts hanging around more I’ll still call him Ghost Dog.

At least you can say Bongo, you know one strange Ghost Dog now. Maybe you should invite him to an afternoon with your sweet Scratchy? 🙂

    • Bongo

      January 21, 2012 at 10:10 pm

Sunshine, Scratchy would hang out on top of the kitchen cabinets if Ghost Dog showed up – and he wouldn’t come down until Ghost Dog disappeared.

Brown Dawgs, it was even a Christmas bandana. I wonder what that says about him.

We agree you must protect your yard, we do but very few dogs ever come in. Since we all live close together, we honor each others boundaries. Maybe like Mica was while Lexie couldn’t play he is just lonely & bored. Maybe he just wanders down the path to see what’s going on or if the is a dog out to see. Al long as he is outside the yard be nice and let him watch what’s happening:-)

      January 23, 2012 at 11:01 am

Tylers, I think that Ghost Dog just wants to make friends – but he keeps disappearing. As long as he’s not in my yard I’ll be friends with him – if he sticks around long enough.

Pippa, I keep thinking that Ghost Dog wants to hang out, and then he disappears again.
